You may be right but it may need a win over Newcastle or Liverpool after the break to be certain.

It is also noticeable that everything was flying in against us in the first block of matches, currently the opposition are missing when we give them chances.

I think your last sentence sums it up though. We haven't been giving many chances up, like we were in the first few games. We kept making daft mistakes and giving the ball away. Brighton and Spurs games in particular were atrocious. Cut out the mistakes and do the basics right and you keep clean sheets.

We gave Everton an easy chance from a bad mistake and they missed. I guess if you give that chance to Tottenham they will score as they have better strikers.

Yeah to be fair that was one we got away with, but on the whole, we haven't made many defensive errors in the last few games.

Solid, generally composed, clinical. West Ham clearly lifted themselves when Maddison went off, but besides Benrahma’s chance, they didn’t seriously test Ward at all. Harvey can really frustrate at times but he’s really mastered that finishing technique. Again, Faes has made such a difference to that backline. Fair play to Rodgers, he has turned it round. Hopefully we can pick the momentum up again after the World Cup. 6 clean sheets in 8 is a seriously impressive shift from where we were

What a good result. We’ve had some horrible results against West Ham in the last 3 years. This isn’t an easy place to go to. I thought we did very well.

I questioned the substitution of Tielemans for Ndidi. I thought it was right to take Tielemans off but for Ndidi seemed negative. It certainly wasn’t.

That pass from Ayoze

Nice to see a reciprocal appreciation between Rodgers and the supporters at full time.

I made this point last weekend. However, I don’t share the sentiments with other posters about him having an irretrievable relationship with the supporters.

I know this is fickle, but that’s football - sixteen points from eight games, a change in style and some brilliant performances. If he keeps this up, then I’ll be more than happy to be proven wrong.

If we keep pushing up the table then I absolutely do not care about what he said in the past.

One of those away days where everything went well. Easy trip down, banter with some Hammers fans in a local bar and overall another good performance in front of a vocal away support.
Started really well and in full control until Maddison went off them we seemed to lose our flow and I feared Tielemans  penalty miss may cost us. However another excellent game from Faes and Ward again unbeaten meant three consecutive away wins for the first time in over two years.

BR milked the applause at the final whistle and  fair play to him, He has had a lot of stick but his team have turned things around.
Well done boys, a fantastic day.

Can’t believe how much our defence has improved

We would have folded under that pressure 2 months ago, or last season.

I thought the centre backs and keeper were awesome.

Harvey

I actually believe we weren’t that bad in the past technically,

we just lacked mental strength, and commitment in finishing/ rounding off the moves. We were often half hearted for small spells…

The new brooms seem to of swept out the corners and hidden cupboards.

I always thought Amartey wasn’t being coached on relaxing  &doing the easy things…Plus he played too much within himself ,lacking confidence for an older player…He’s been rejuvenated, by some  good field coaching & building that awareness. Kudos on Rodgers in keeping to him,and believing he could make something out of him…There is/was a process behind it…Ditto Soumare.

4 points clear of the relegation zone and quite a few piss poor teams below us.

We're in a good place.

Sorry I reckon, there are more good/decent  teams lower than us,and bottom half games are more interesting. Nobody can pick bottom 3-4 yet.
We are winning because we are finding footballing manoeuvres that break the opposition, and a new defence spirit than can hold…..it doesn’t mean the oppo is

weak,shit or crap…

The also rans are getting stronger among themselves, and also ready ,willing and have a stronger squad that barring injuries, can play deeper in the season with the big boys.I suspect the big boys might find they stub their toes

a bit more each season, but their depth of quality in their squads and mental aptitude will see them show that difference in the EOS run ins

Few teams are obvious walk overs anymore..

First time in years I've felt like we're genuinely playing above the sum of our parts. This run is better than anything served up last season quite comfortably.

World Cup's hit us at a terrible time. We're flying.

The turnaround in form is honestly borderline April 2015 stuff. It's mental. It's less now about staying up and more what those 7 games will cost us!

Has enough been said about that pass from Perez for the second goal?

I remember people wanking over that one that praet made in the cup a couple of years back. This one was surely on the same level (wanking-wise).

I don’t think he said anything untoward in the past..

It was teaming not coming upto expectation,so some fans decided to start some

ridiculous campaign, and queried what was behind his interviews & statements,

then decided to put their own translation on things said…others like sheep bleeted

out some ridiculous importance stance & meaning to,every word he said..

Maybe the w.cup, gave us a renewed path & solid target to aim for..
manager using it as motivation….give me the 7 games of discipline and mental aptitude…

players not having to worry 15 games & through festive season, lessen the stress rates..Now they go into the hard first 3 fixture after the break with strong & new confidence..

Here’s a couple of things I have noticed,

1 we play every good keep ball until we score , then for some reason we can’t control the ball or make I simple pass , and we struggle to make simple tackles. Is it pressure to try and play safe football , yet it really brings us undone .
but it’s great to see us winning again

I can vouch for this.

Rodgers seems to have decided we can play against most sides in this league without a specified CDM.  Bouba certainly doesn’t sense danger enough to be that. We developed this approach in the conf league when wilf got injured and papy wasn’t registered. It did allow us to be played around somewhat by teams such as psv and Roma.

im not sure it’s a long term solution. It could be that rodgers is sticking with it whilst it’s working and eventually will revert to wilf once it doesn’t. Having two players in the middle who are able to be progressive and can see a pass is certainly posing problems for the opposition.  I’ve a feeling that braybrooke will be in that screening role sooner rather than later. He could offer the best of both worlds. definitely next season - but the departure of YT will cause rodgers a big problem here as his experience is lost.
