Its disappointing. I'm sure it'll run smoothly, but I can't help think it'll be like that England world cup game where they went to an advert just as Gerrard scored

Apparently will just be an advert in the corner whilst there is a stoppage in play rather than leave the game totally .

Well that is the plan !

Radio described it as once per half, before a scrum, the game will go to a small box in the corner and an advert will play with sound

You mean almost like selling an equal share in the tournament to a venture capitalist group might have somehow let some sort of genie out of the bottle?

Who could have seen that coming.

Forward passes don't count in France, then?

Camera angle was very weird. Typical French TV. Think it might have been flat.

This French side look bloody good.

Worst Irish team in many years though. That’s what they deserve for playing a load of old men for years, blocking the development pathway.

Blocking the development pathway?

They have a ****ing phenomenal development pathway.

And that's exactly what they're doing right now, experimenting with one eye on next year. This was always going to be a transitional year for Ireland, they'll be pretty comfortable with that.

I recommend the following podcast about effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) on Shane Christie (and his friend Billy Guyton) whose diagnoses only became clear after their deaths (apparently this condition cannot be diagnosed before death). It is largely told by his ex-partner Holly Parkes. A 50 minute listen but I do recommend

I see the Guardian had also published an article about this:

I remember reading over 90% of NFL players have it in some form....its one of the reasons soccer has become so popular there.  Although with recent findings on heading the ball and cte I wonder how safe it is.
