BBC reporting the hospital are saying Pele is still receiving treatment and comfortable.

Let’s hope they are right .

Sadly the treatment will only be pain relief, it’s end of life care.

A great player, and according to those who know him a great man.

This video sort of changed my opinion of him. Sounds a bit stupid.

I'd imagine getting to see him live is the equivalent of seeing Ronaldo and Messi live now.

all that while playing on cow paddocks, wearing hobnail boots and having your ankles broken every week.

Man was a genius...only player to come close was Best

The moment where he dummies it around the keeper, and clips it wide is one of the best pieces of skill I've ever seen. If it went in probably one of the best goals ever

I remember one of my first football memories was my old man showing me a VHS clip of that dummy that didn't even result in a goal but I'll never forget that.

Seemed to be generations ahead from the limited highlights I've seen of him

I saw him play once. I was working in Birmingham and Santos were playing Aston Villa in a friendly. I think he only played for the first 60 miutes but it was enough.

RIP the greatest player of my formative years.
