Will be another James Wesolowski, he will never fully recover properly.

Not sure where the comparison is or what your point is here.

First point is Wesolowski broke his leg twice and never had an ACL injury while with us .

Wesolowski had not played a first team game the first time he broke his leg.

He had only appeared in Friendlies .

He came back after his broken leg and obviously so had obviously made a good recovery as he went onto getting in the team for the first time.

Unfortunately after just a handful of games maybe 3 or four from memory he broke the same leg.

Again he came back and got back into the team and played regularly or was around the team regularly for a couple of years.Again this suggests he made a goid recovery.

The fact he got in the team and played a good number of games after never making an appearance before suggests that he actually made a good recovery.

He went onto play maybe 300/400 games in his career at a guess so I'm not sure why you suggest that his injury ruined his career?

May he have been a better player without those early leg breaks? Possibly...nobody will ever know for sure but the fact is he made his breakthrough and played all his games for us after those injuries, suggest he got through the injuries just fine .

His performance in that friendly vs Celtic was incredible. That was an era where we weren't massively blessed with exciting young players and that summer there was such a buzz about him.

That lad has potentially ended a career at the top level for Alves. He should be able to be held accountable through the justice system

He should be made to have r**ist tattood onto his forehead in bold font and then thrown in prison.

Has it been confirmed that the muscle injury is related to the original injury then?

I very much doubt it, but plenty of knickers are getting twisted.  Which incidentally, can lead to restricted blood flow!

Amazing how this forum has turned on Alves from being supportive and excited when he was on the bench two games ago to now writing him off. Looking forward to him overcoming that and thriving.

Some of our fans are bloody moronic. You don’t know anything about his injury and doubt you have the first clue about Biology even at GSCE level.

Maybe just the support the lad rather than the typical unfounded negative knee jerk reactionary brain dead nonsense.

Ahh at last some other fans are starting to understand the power

of support & encouragement, instead of first jumping on the negatives.

Why soon we will have a forum just like Leeds, helping to carry the team they

support..

I used the JW example because he was also an excellent prospect on the cusp of breaking into the first team before he picked up a long term injury, whose body could never fully recover. He was never near 400 appearances and the last time I saw him was at Guiseley. If you think a period in League 2, Conference and arse end of Scotland is a decent footballing career then we'll disagree.

I'm not writing Alves off, he's a very good prospect but not anywhere near the wonder kid he's often made out to be on here least of all at the level where he can walk into the first team like a certain few have suggested.

Alves needs a sustained period where he doesn't inflame a previous injury or pick up a new one, I just have doubts his body will let him reach the level has has the potential to reach without breaking down, even before this injury (which was more than just an ACL) he struggled to complete 90mins of football and would pick up regular muscle injuries.

I know you've got upset that golden boy has took some slack and you think what I say is wrong, but maybe just lower expectations with him until he can play 6 months injury free - might be a while

Concentrate on getting him ready for pre-season, no need to rush anything. We can take a look, give him some minutes, and if he needs a championship loan (:fc: we a Premier League club) then so be it.

A knee jerk reaction is quite ironic really

322 appearances in total including a three year spell in League One with Oldham where's he's bit of a cult hero. Decent season with Peterborough as well finishing 4th.

I'd say that's a decent footballing career.

I think your point is valid though.

Let the lad recover. Like most fans I’m over eager to see him play in the 1st time. The suspense is killing us and we’re in danger of over hyping Alvez. No one more than the player himself wants to play in front of us and show what he can do. He’s just unlucky with injuries at the moment but he will be back. It will be a nice suprise when he does play. Good luck with his recovery let’s wish him well.

Not sure why you are trying to correct me.

Let's do the maths....

322 career appearances falls between my estimate of 300-400 by my calculations...

Please feel free to correct me again if i am wrong.

And to me that's a very acceptable career.

I get so embarrassed looking back at who I got excited by. I found a programme with Ryan Smith on the front the other day and we were talking him up like the next Henry.

Could be worse, you could have been getting hyped up with Zslot Lackzo as the heir apparent to Ronaldinho after his debut v cov

I remember buzzing that they were going to be on the FIFA January update. They gave them both about 52 overall.

We've come a long way really haven't we?
