For all those desperate for nacho to start, I thought he added nothing when he came on, in fact I thought we were notable worse with him on the pitch and he seemed to slow down alot of attacks when the quick break was our best chance to create.

Whilst I understand it was only 20minutes, he did nothing in that time that would want me to be calling for him to start games anytime soon.

Bang on. He always tries to do too much or dosen't pass when he needs too. He's living of his purple patch from last season but in reality we should be looking to move him on.

As soon as it went 2-1 they were never going to score. Its a mental block that this club has when playing a big team where they shit themselves and make the wrong decision in the final third everytime. Too many brain dead players in squad with zero composure. Not going to change until theres a massive overhaul of team

...down to coaching,  we have been like this for years!!!

Making bad decisions in the final third, we must practice this in training time and time again and we still mess up when a break is on and the final ball needs to be played.

We were always going to be up for this, Liverpool had such a poor night infront of goal, it could have been a disaster.

We just cannot continue to throw money at this,   having to bring players in to solve a problem that the coaches should be able to correct.

That's the issue. Barnes can be marked out of games because there is **** all else.

I think some milage in the report we will get a RW and back up some like Boga as a back LW on loan.

He’s not going to get into the flow with 20m cameos every 2-3 weeks

I didn’t see us go to pieces?

We ballooned in two OG, the CB's were arguing with the 'keeper and whenever we had it in a good position we were sloppy or got caught out and panicked. The few opportunities we did have we wasted. Had Liverpool actually been any good tonight we'd have been in real trouble.

Brendan, is that you?

I agree that he was shocking but he was asked to play where exactly?

Just tell him to stand next to Vardy and be brave but what actually happened was Barnes played further forward and Nacho was in a 2 with KDH?

I'm not gonna to debate the tactical nitty gritty as chances are we agree with each other.

But, and this was my point, I dont care who plays where in this game, to consistently slow the game down as he did when we had the ball, was criminal.

We know what he can be capable of, good and bad, but he looked more like a competition winner again tonight

To expand on my eatlier comments.

Thiago chucked himself around a *lot*,  some of it was blatant diving, and the ref could have added four minutes just for the time he was on the deck.

And as I said in the match thread, Harvey Elliott doing the "I've got a limb shattered into small pieces" handwave and clutch of the head, then jumping straight up and playing on, was a disgrace.

Liverpool got a lot of 50/50 decisions.

There were several corners and throw ins given incorrectly.

It might not have changed the result but the ref had an utter fookin nightmare and he'll get away with a positive review and more big games.

So what went wrong then? Were we beaten by a better team or ourselves? That's what it comes down to isn't it?

Ohh, I totally agree with what you’re saying and more a tongue in cheek comment that Rodgers clearly has the same thought process.

Just a shame that Nacho has gone back to the player looking devoid of all confidence yet it was under Rodgers that HE (Nacho) turned it around and nearly singlehandedly got us into the top 4.

I have to disagree with you there. I thought he moved the ball extremely well

He was certainly one of our better players we deserved at least a point today

I know the injury time played in the WC at times was a farce but a) the injury time should have been more than 4 mins and b) when a player goes down injured during injury time that additional time has to be extended. Pawson couldn't wait to blow up dead on 94 mins when we were still half on the attack.

Frustrating night, Liverpool were diabolical and we gifted them 3 points. We played well in patches but that's scant consolation, when are we going to stop doing this against the better sides in the division, that's something horrid like 1 point in 9 games this season vs the top 10, we are in trouble if we don't get our act together.

Looked like he was about to blow up then seemed to give us opportunity to lump it in and we decided to knock it about a bit more. Should have added longer anyway but we don't half mess about with it.

We need more quality, going to be a long season if Top doesn't put his hand in his pocket.
