Is this just us putting a move for Tete out there to show Fiorentina that we are not being held to ransom but we would be willing to go back in for Gonzalez if there was going to be further sensible negotiation.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rudkin and Co hadn't even thought about that tbh.

Nah, I'm almost certain it's something they've done before.

Anyone else not sleep last night?

Not been thinking about this at all, in fact I fell asleep as soon at my Tête hit the pillow!

Eh not really I mean, if he's straight up told them he's not going to sign for a Ligue 1 team if he can go to the Prem then there's not a lot they can do. He's not their player, there's no obligation to buy, there's no pre agreed contracts. He's just a loan.

Yeah they can leverage a couple of mil out of it but even that is probably fairly standard. You'd think most loans have legal small print for what the sending club has to pay as comp if they don't honour the terms of the loan. You'd imagine it's just a case of us as potential buyers being willing to cover Shaktar's losses or not.

All the penny pinching we've been doing lately this is where the deal will fall over.

We don't penny pinch when we actually sign players though, quite the opposite. We over pay on both transfer fee and wages compared to others 😂

Personally think nothing will happen on a winger until Souttar is finalised and we know how much cash is left. CB definitely looks like it's the priority.

And if we're still hoping Vestergaard and Perez go this month too then they'll likely happen first.

Reckon something close to deadline day is likely.

We have £25-30m for a winger, if our bids for Gonzalez is anything to go by.

Maybe, but it seems to me the club has realised it may have to buy its way out of trouble.

When we first bid for Gonzalez, we thought Kristiansen was costing £10m ish and we don't know what Stoke are holding out for yet.

£25 million is enough to secure Tete with his current contract status. Will be interesting to see if this is just to try and force Fiorentina’s hand.

How depressing if it is though.

Would much rather Tete, a lot more promise.

The only reason you'd ever prioritise Nico Gonzalez over Tete is because Rodgers is in your ear moaning about signing young players that actually require coaching.

Are we at the head of the queue?

Ask yourself , why would he come to Leicester? At this moment in time the only answer is money.

Personally I’d go for Mateus Cardoso Lemos Martins over this fella

A) he's a right footed left winger and B) Udinese have signed him and lobbed him out to Watford on loan.
