We have 18 points from 20 games!

No LCFC supporter can convince me of Rodgers narrative that we have not invested in the first team sufficiently for us to be doing better than we are now.

And of our financial figures are skewed anyway, because the recruitment in the past seasons has produced excellent first team players who we have sold on for very good fees.

Maguire

Mahrez

Chilwell

Fofana

These are examples of not just normal player sales but elite player sales bringing in elite transfer revenue.

What we replaced them with under Rodgers and his mate Congerton was dross, and we have an inflated wage bill in some cases I have no issues with, but how can recruitment errors on such a scale lead to the club fearing relegation?

How can any fan ignore this?

How can any fan ignore our ineffective style of play?

How can any fan defend keeping Rodgers with the pathetic defensive question of yeah but "who is available for the club to replace him with" , I hope it's not Dyche!

Rodgers is doing a terrible job.

The players we have with a value like the players example above is deteriorating every day because they will not resign under this manager.

Rodgers is costing us millions, on this metric alone.

The only way we are not going down is if we somehow manage to beat the absolutely poor sides below us like we managed with 4 before Christmas. Without those 4 wins we would have 6 points from 16 games against the other sides.

Looking at the next 5 games l dont think we will be quite in the relegation places but only because our rivals also have  got toughish matches( Bournemouth in particular).

But the big concern is our rivals - l think it will be 3 from us, Everton, Soton, Bournemouth and Wolves - all have or will shortly have a newish manager who may get them motivated.

No matter what happens we will not get this.

He is here until he takes us down l fear.

The big concern I - and surely many others - have is that the “at some point” will come too late to allow his replacement to repair the damage.

Whilst the board and owner are being unbelievably stupid right now, I don't think they'll let it go that late.

Your debates are boring though. It's not even a debate any more anyway. Who are you trying to prove a point to when I'd say 90-95% want Rodgers out now anyway?

Just smacks of arrogance and an 'I told you so' attitude which isn't a great look :dunno:

Excuse me! I’M Mr ‘I told you so’ on this forum !

Matt is a mere amateur

The fact isn't that it's arrogant, 'I told you so', or even that it's 'boring', the fact is that i'm still going on about the same things for 2 years and nothing changes - surely there lies the problem and is the crux of the point.

I don't see what other ways I can dress it up.

When the hope is that there are teams worse than yours to take the relegation spot it's not a good sign.. :/

Recall our squad from the Great Escape season: the guile, the fight, the heart they showed with a mountain to climb..now compare that to Brendan's soggy bottom boys, rolling down a slippery slope..

My thoughts exactly.

I'd like to think Southampton, Everton, Bournemouth are worse than us like people say. On paper, sure, we have the better team, but what we're showing on the pitch every week is a just as bad as any team below us. What I'm worried about is the other teams around us picking up points, changing managers, having one good game and bouncing back while BR stays clueless keeps making excuses, keeps blaming everyone else beside himself and the key players further regressing and losing belief in themselves. What has happened to that "fearless" mentality btw... Sorry if it sounds like I'm a miserable sod I usually try to be optimistic, but I just dont's see us staying up. Fingers crossed I'm wrong and Top gets rid of rotten Rodgers and we mount another Great Escape :fc::sweating::fc:

It went in off the post we didn't throw away two points, Brighton have beaten much better teams than us this season. We did well not to capitulate.

?? We did capitulate.
In off the post is on target… infact it’s the most effective goal you can score since it’s the hardest possible angle for the keeper to save it from that angle. In off the post is perfection from that angle.

Yeah, so we could do little about it. We defended really well.

When you actually want your team to lose just so you can be proved right you’ve really lost your way my friend.

Thing is I’m sure all would’ve taken a loss to Brighton if it means Rodgers was sacked.

What do you mean we could do little about it? Defend the cross, defend the header, stop them from midfield. There's absolutely loads we can do, we capitulated.

Interesting analysis of Everton by Danny Murphy on MOTD last night. He could have been describing us.

He highlighted their lack of ambition going forward, the preference to knock it backwards rather than take a risk going forward. Forward runners no longer making runs because they know the ball won't be played through. And much more possession than West Ham.

Cant imagine any team worse than us, let alone 3! :D

We deserve to go down. So bad on the pitch and off it.

The manager an evil midget who keeps twisting the knife and laughing as we pay his fortune.

Skint, disinterested owner.

I dont care anymore, I've put £100 on us to get relegated and i never win any money so I've done my bit:P, now let them get on with it.

An important matter is avoiding relegation. Another one is knowing what's the vision of the board regarding our team. What are the expectations? Are we going to be the next Crystal Palace? No thanks and if I sound arrogant I don't care. We've sold world class players over these years. What's going on?

You aren’t going down.  Presumably Maddison is back soon (?) and he’s the best player of any bottom half club.  You’ll be 10 points minimum clear of relegation.

We won’t even finish above your lot who were literally strangers to each other a few week back lol

Said to a baggie I work with after we lost to Everton last season, we'd be this seasons Everton and we'll be down if Rodgers was still here.

Each passing week is the screw turning in our lid. People claiming there's 3 worse teams and we'll be fine, I honestly don't see what they see. We've got a manager throwing everyone left, right and centre under the bus, and has done for years now, players running down contracts who ain't arsed, the rest ain't arsed because their managers an arsehole, and a fan base that has about as much back bone as the board in demanding anything is done about it all. We're rotten

I thought I was being negative but turns out I was being positive (in terms of speed of decline) when I said to a Newcastle supporting mate when their takeover happening in October 2021 that I wanted them to take Rodgers as we’d be down within 3 years if we kept him!
