Two things.

  • This is not your money.
  • Contract.

It was kneejerk shocker of a signing by the club no argument there but he didn’t sign himself and he owes you, me, any fan nothing beyond effort and availability,

Was it a kneejerk signing? Maybe the timing of it yes, but it was widely reported Rodgers had been trying to get him for a few years at the time, we were linked with him in multiple windows before he did come.

Rodgers then proceeded to play him for what… less that 10 starts? In a role that exposed his weaknesses, in one of the worst defences in the prem, then dropped him and froze him out of the team. I don’t really blame him for being pissed off about how he was treated, though he does come across as a dickhead in interviews.

I'm not sure why anybody would be angry at vestegaard, and I'm not surprised if vestegaard is angry with the club, he's done nothing wrong, I don't think we've handled the situation well, I don't think he's as bad as many make out

Statements like this, just shows many in the fan base don’t understand what’s behind the off-field ethics & stories. What Vestergaard said or done against the fans, his browse is with how the pathetic management of this club totally mismanaged him plus a few other players…

Because of it,I would love him to stay, and turn his career around…

It's not the photo of Vestergaard that I'm finding offensive.

See what you are saying, and maybe it was more considered than I suppose, just felt it was a move off the back of Jonny’s constant unavailability, though age may be fogging my memory. Generally have no issue with him, suspect most footballers are dickheads to be honest, and yes, he has every right to be annoyed.

I’d  wear a grass skirt and sing that song from the Lion king for the type of contract he is on. I also wouldn’t want to go somewhere else for less money if I could help it. I’d shred papers all day for that money if they made me…

Hopefully we can get rid, while I can’t speak for his personality at the club, he is still part of the rot.  I’ve never seen such a weak cb,

slow you can understand but no excuse to be bullied.  He didn’t get off to a great start when he gave away a penalty to Brighton even though his arm was being pulled down

clearly on VAR. I don’t know why he didn’t just fall to the ground with that sort of contact.

I will never forget his brain dead play away at Randers. He ran to a ball at the halfway line, instead of letting it go out he did a slide to hook it back to the keeper too regain possession. Of course it was a short pass and they nearly scored.

The club have been poor with Vestergaard including by buying him.  He has acted within  his rights and probably with good reason.  The fact that we are paying him so much reflects that football finances are out of control.   It would be in our best interests for him to go.  But...    there are benefits to him to stay.

There's no point wasting energy hating him.

Angry with Rodgers I’d understand, maybe even his coaching team or the head of recruitment at the time, but none of those are still at the club

I don't know, if the media reports are true, he seems pretty determined to leave

Not saying he isn’t, just that he shouldn’t be!

Of course I saw him play, he had a torrid time and admitted he'd not played as well as he'd hoped, question is, did we help him integrate and improve his form, or did we isolate him. He isn't a bad player, he just didn't suit our play style

I would point the finger at Fudgkin for this disaster,  but his personal FT PR Troll we come after me - sh*t I have just opened myself up😱

Bad signing, not the players fault and we must accept that it is how it is.

For all of his defensive faults, and for all of the hate he gets from the supporters. He is actually one of the better ball playing CB at the club. And it wouldn't surprise me if he did stay and features a bit this season. Especially now that Coady is injured.

What style would he suit ?

And what style would help him go and win the headers and dominate our 18 yard box ?

Whilst I do not blame him for taking the stupid money we have given him, I don't accept his total lack of effort and refusing moves where he could have played the so called game that he loves.  He is now happy to leave lol....no coincidence in the reduced earnings.....I get it financially but as a person with the passion that nearly all of us would love to play professional football sometimes, £70000 a week not being enough to apply your trade in a professional manner is a complete disgrace.  For those that say he could still do a job...opinion, if he did that last season then just maybe we would have got those few extra points,,,,,rant over.

The thing with Vesty is, he wasn't shit at Southampton, and he isn't shit for Denmark.  Maybe, just maybe, Rodgers is the problem.  The blame lies at his door for almost every other player.  Maybe it's the same here.  He didn't play to any players strengths in the last 18 months of his rancid tenure.
