It's not revisionist to say Dyer wasn't a great finisher. He wasn't. It did improve over time, but it wasn't great. He had all the attributes that are missing from the lot who got us relegated. He's an absolute beast on FIFA, keep playing him up front in career mode and he'll become one of the best strikers in the world This is coming from the game that still rates Pereira as one of the best right backs in the game though. I have a strong suspicion you either very rarely watched Lloyd Dyer play live or you were imbibing a little too much when you did. If Dyer had been a reliable finisher on top of his pace, fitness, upper body strength, agility, work rate and dribbling he'd have been a Top 6 club. Not strong enough, I’m not convinced he’s actually that fast and technically not great. He does work hard and seems like a good character, so maybe it’s a case of working with the right manager. Give him one to one sessions with Vardy to teach him ball control first touches knowledge of space etc, he has the pace he just needs to be taught the rest by the Legend the Goat the 11th Heaven Specialist how to destroy defences that said after that he’d be fuching unstoppable!! Mate I’m a season ticket holder and I’ve been going for years. I watched the vast majority of Dyer at our stadium and I don’t drink at the match. I’ve never said he’s a top 6 player and that’s irrelevant anyway as he’s not being compared to a top 6 player. Some of the stick he’s got on this Patson thread is weird. He wasn’t brought in as a striker, his overall technical ability has been compared to Daka and from what I’ve seen that’s a very harsh comparison for Dyer. He was no mug with the ball at his feet. The one thing you can say is that given a chance he can finish and he's one of those players that has potential to be stunningly good if it all clicks.
