This is very much the future for us next season without Maddison sadly.

Every game he’s been out this season we’ve looked out of our depth at Premier League level. Next season is going to be a serious slog to try and stay up.

There should be enough quality in our team to get by in the PL without Maddison. But it requires a coach that can give us a better identity, motivate players better and a squad that doesn't suffer as many long-term disruptive injuries.

Grim.

That said, Arsenal didn't look like scoring many either, but they found a way, like all league winning teams do.

Reminded me a bit of ourselves during the second half of our title-winning season. We rarely created more than a couple of decent chances, if that, but had quality players with belief.

This is happening in almost every match now, and it's killing the game.

It really isn't "killing the game". It's another vapid hyperbole that is repeated in the football echo chamber.
Is it frustrating? Sure. But it isn't a major cause of football's "decline".

What an appalling game of football, total of 3 shots off target 2 on.

Fair enough were not that good and even worse without Madders but they're top of the PL supposedly the best league in Europe if not the World and they were shite.

I thought winning when 'playing shit' was a hallmark of champions in England? I thought they looked far superior all over the pitch, but they lacked a killer instinct. Fully deserved win, even if they didn't shine.

Had my sons 10th birthday party with his school mates at an indoor trampoline park. Naturally, i missed our game but my son was having the time of his life so i don't care about this game.

Have a cocktail or mocktail and be happy :)

Just had a discussion with an Arsenal fan in the bogs at the station regarding whether or not Granit Xhaka is a grade A cheating c***. To quote Brian Clough, he had his say, I had mine and we agreed that I was right. Square faced cockney w***** like an extra out of Fagins gang in Oliver Twist. “ He doesn’t ‘t feign injury” yeah right, get a head reshaping you missing link :D

We didn't lose because of a dodgy ref,  negative tactics from the opposing manager or Arsenal players pretending to be injured and running the clock down.

We lost because we were negative from the 1st whistle and let Arsenal have a day off.

Replace it with The Foxes Never Have A Go banner

In one breath he says he believes we need 5 more wins to be safe and that he's confident we'll get them.

Literally in the next breath he says we won't magically win 6 or 7 wins.

We've won 7 in 24 so inclined to agree with the latter statement, i'm not so sure on his first however.

I could have got a higher XG playing on my own against Arsenal by just having a shot from the halfway line after the kick off in their 100-0 thrashing against me.

We never looked like a team that is in touch with the reality that we are in a relegation battle, but aside from that, the tactics employed in the last 15 minutes is not football. I spoke to Arsenal fans after the game that admitted as much. There's a way of winning the league it and that wasn't it. Disgusting.

Nobody can seriously defend a tactical approach that ended up with us having one 30 yard shot. You shouldn’t be going any game going 30 minutes with that sort of output let alone 90.

It’s a mark of how far we’ve fallen that we were bemoaning the passivity of our approach against Man United back in August where we had 10 shots (albeit none from inside the penalty area until injury time) but to have 1 is so poor, it’s borderline record breaking stuff.

Standards are through the floor. People genuinely pleased we didn’t get pumped. We didn’t show up.

Imagine you’re a 7 year old kid and that’s your first game today. Playing top of the league, a big occasion, and you get treated to absolutely no attacking intent whatsoever and then would have had to suffer 20 minutes of Arsenal players feigning injury. You wouldn’t want to come back. A really poor spectacle all round.

It made no difference to today because we never tried to score but 5 minutes at the end was laughable and almost offensive. Could've been at least double that.

A proper advert for stopping the clock every time the ball is dead.

The gulf in quality was evident and Arsenal rarely got out of 2nd gear disappointing that we didn't turn up and they definitely knew what they were doing to see the game out on a side note I think that was the first time I've seen Saka live and his pace on the ball is frightening

Oh man, I can’t stand the ****.

Arteta just cheated and sh1thoused us out of the last 20 minutes. Don’t praise it, call it out for what it is. Presume Brendan is just blinded by the cash Arsenal can throw around. Moron. Get out.

The only reason this annoys me because he’s always been so quick to put us down in the past. Loves slinging about praise for opposition but when it comes to his own club and players he’s the first to put a dampener on it.

Him not creating a siege mentality and slating the players/club at the start of the season is the main reason our start was so bad and its a hill i’m prepared to die on.

3 weeks ago we figured we’d be lucky to come out with 1 pt total against Spurs/Manu/Arsenal.

We got 3, and lost to the top PL team today - but by the looks of some of the posters on here, we’ve just been relegated.

LOL.  Have some perspective.

In a row. We’re not going to win 6 or 7 games in a row was his quote.
