FFS!

Ward back in goal today I'm hearing after Iverson injured a finger in training yesterday!!

You couldn't make it up!

Lol...oh yes you could.

Assuming Zaha plays he always scores, plus some random who hasn't scored in 3 years so we will need at least 3 goals to win, hmmmm :sweating: :nono:.

Injured in 'training' or injured after Rodgers suggested his medical staff give Iversen the once over 'after' training. If there is one person i would ignore if he said 'let me get my medical guys to give you the once over', it would be Rodgers.

If Wards in goal you have to factor in one going in the middle of the goal - hope it’s Zara’s inevitable goal. Let’s prey we can score at least 3

This could go one way or the other. New manager bounce and palace to rediscover their scoring touch or Leicester show what we are capable of and give a full 90 minute performance. I am an optimist so I’ll go the latter. 0-3 away battering. Barnes madders and Daka.

Maddison needs to be the talisman now, show his worth. He's going to have a lot of eyes on him as people weigh up offers. He's the best player in the bottom half of the table, and if he can drag us to safety, he can leave with my blessing

Definitely an accidental injury I believe.

With so many palace fans skeptical about Roy coming back, I genuinely think if we can take a lead the atmosphere will sour almost instantly.  Of course on the flip side a goal would probably give them a huge lift … the first 15 minutes could be huuuge .

I detect a slight flaw in your argument.

Looking at the form table, both teams are struggling to score, poor at the back, and have lost several on the bounce.

Hodgeson will play safety first to avoid a loss on his opening match, and Rodgers will also want to avoid the loss rather than the win.

All points towards a 0-0 or 1-1 score line

I hear Brendan is trying Mendy in goal for this one as Iverssen has hurt a finger in training, says he’s got lightning reactions and big hands well I think he said he’s got big hands??🤷🤷

So pumped for this, this game is absolutely massive. No excuses today

Err- i'll start though. We had Ward in goal and the Belgians were tired in defense after a tough set of international games.

Lose today and we are in the bottom 3 as West Ham play Southampton tomorrow.

If we lose by only 1 goal and West Ham v Southampton is a draw we'll be still out of the bottom 3 on goals scored - unless Bournemouth beat Fulham.

It's a good job we've not conceded first in our last 10 league games then. Oh....

To add to this, the optimism from the outside looking in, as well as just buying the bullshit about BR being good enough, also takes into account how many matches we have left against teams around us.

Other than blind hope, what has given anybody close our club, any optimism that we will actually win any of them. This understandable pessimism brings the final factor into play, for each one of those we lose, we are doubly ****ed!

Fear the worst, hope for the best is about as good as it gets I reckon.

And even if we win, and play ace, weve seeb enough to know it can turn to shit again just as quickly.

Oh the ****ing excitement.

I have a small glimmer of hope that, in addition to Maddison, Barnes's ability to score and assist even on off days may keep us breathing just above the relegation zone.

I was hoping that it was just a joke, but it seems that our worst nightmare has come true: Ward is starting.

Unless he dropped a dinner plate on his toe, BR confirmed Iversen was starting in he's press conference.
