I can't believe there is any club in the country that make 8 or 9 signings where all are a perfect fit and go straight into the first team. It's completely unrealistic to think otherwise.

Coady would have started ahead of Vestergaard if he wasn't injured. The signing made good sense. Leadership and a ball playing centre back. Vestergaard was probably not expected to turn into such a key player.

I'm pretty sure Enzo would have given his support for signing Doyle given his knowledge of him at Man City.

Yunus was a pretty low risk option that could have been useful given his experience at a higher level.

The jury is still out on Cannon, but we shouldn't lose too much money on him if it doesn't work out.

Maybe not 8 or 9, but Crystal Palace aren’t doing too bad on that score.

Running a football club, there is no set holiday period, if something needs doing, do it, if you not prepared to give up your time for that, then no business owning a club or being a DoF either.

Transfer critical staff should have holidays just after the windows have closed

Quite. The fact they're on their jollies now is absolutely ridiculous, even if we hadn't have lost the manager.

Maybe Rudkin has a hybrid employment contract, they are all the rage these days

Not familiar with mobile phones, laptops and the internet I presume. Can't recall the last holiday I went on where I didn't do some work.

Not really much of a holiday then.

Well it’s nice to see our big decision makers at the club are pretty chilled about our current state of affairs lol.

maybe we all should go on holiday.

Hopefully all our problems will be sorted magically by the time we get back (NOT)!

I dunno. It caused quite a large issue in the last week of January when Rudkin went off for Top’s wedding.

His contract for four different roles must be the length of the Old Testament

Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t have any tbh.

If KP don't wish to get rid of him, one of the best things they could do is move him to a head of football operations across the KP clubs and employ 2 DOFs to run us and OHL

That would be a very smart move so I doubt it will happen

The worst think about Enzo leaving is Rudkin will definitely remain as DOF.

What this club needs more than anything is a new strong DOF that can implement a longterm blueprint, a style of play, player recruitment, tactical philosophy starting from the academy upto the first team

Rudkin allowed Rodgers to sabotage everything good about the club at the time, meaning Enzo had to start again.

We can't afford to waste money on good players that don't fit the next manager's system, who are either loaned, don't play or sold at a loss.

Managers are short term, the DOF is the most important person at the club and we're stuck with Rudkin for the foreseeable future.

Rudkin wasn’t going anywhere regardless in my opinion, at best we would of got a sporting director.

Yes, Brexit is all his fault.

As is the cost of Russian gas.  When he delivers Steve Bruce or Cooper, there will be people on here demanding the Club erect a statue in his honor.

Yes, people who run businesses or are in very high-up positions within businesses often don't get a holiday. Having run my own company for a while now, I've not had a single holiday where I've not been on my laptop or phone doing work. It comes with the territory, and I can do absolutely everything I need to do anywhere in the world, so long as there is an internet connection. It's a bit shit, but there are plenty of other upsides to make up for it.

I can't believe that in this day and age, people are still whining about people not being chained to their desks.

Agree with this - haven’t ever been on holiday, certainly not in the past 5-10 years where I haven’t taken my laptop. It’s just normal - doesn’t mean you can’t relax at other points, I tend to get up early and do an hour when away to keep it ticking over.

Rudkin and his team won’t be on shutdown mode as much as everyone wants to believe it.
