Get real. They're a corrupt organisation who throw money at things to get their own way. It'll all come out. I'll be surprised if it's only 100 times it's happend. Don't think that because they don't 'over pay' they don't move money around in other ways to get their way. You've either been taken in by them or you work for their PR team.

no-ones said they aren't corrupt as ****? being corrupt as **** is a key part of running a successful business these days. but it's undeniable that man city use the money they throw around far more effectively than others (Chelsea and man utd have both spent something like a billion quid since their last title wins) because man city are a well oiled machine behind the scenes and have people who know how to use the stupid amount of money they have access to

For the 5848474748th time, it doesn't matter where the money comes from, the footballing side of the business at Man City is exemplary and anyone refusing to learn lessons from it purely because the business and money side may or may not be corrupt is brain dead.

Txiki Begiristain is a genius, they have phenomenal staff and they negotiate very well, targeting round pegs for round holes and never almost never being pushed in to over paying.

You'd have to be beyond thick to laugh at the suggestion that they are well run. Look at what United and Chelsea have done with comparable spends.

You'd have to be beyond, beyond thick to ignore this.

The 115 Man City charges identified allege that:

For nine years to 2017, the club did not provide accurate financial information about their revenue

That from 2009 to 2013, they didn’t give full details of how much they were paying their manager

From 2010 to 2016 they didn’t give full detail around payments to players

From 2013 to 2018 they didn’t comply with Uefa FFP regulations

From 2015 to 2018 they didn’t comply with the Premier League’s PSR rules

And finally, from 2018 onwards, they did not co-operate with the Premier League’s inquiry

The nuance here has just gone miles over your head mate, hasn't it?

Nobody, including me, is defending their business practices or denying they've breached the laws put in place to pretty deliberately stop them.

But plenty of clubs around the world are playing with, basically, the money cheats on and are still getting it wrong.

Having a significant amount of resources at their disposal doesn't stop it being immensely impressive that they've consistently put the right team together and coached it superbly.

You can acknowledge the money they have is disgusting whilst still also recognising the footballing side of the business is an example clubs should be learning lessons from.

It’s easy to negotiate in Monopoly if you’ve cheated your way to a massive pot of cash.

There’s nothing to admire about Man City having more money than everyone else and buying all the best stuff.

The football side is only possible because they cheat. It's only possible because they can buy any player in the world. What you blindly see as skill and football genius, I see as cheating to buy the best players (it doesn't take a genius to see the best player does it?). Then having also paid to bring in the best manager etc etc.

The root of your supposed genius is bringing in the best at everything with crooked money.

Now a real genius would do what man city do on a normal budget!

The difference is that Man City used that money build great foundations through the club, from backroom staff to media / revenue opportunities / academy management and monetisation, through to the overarching player recruitment strategy which is built on long term goals around the managers vision.

Compare this to Man Utd or Chelsea who have spend gut-wrenching obscene amounts of money and look like the pits in comparison. If it was easy just by throwing money at it, the Chelsea and Man Utd would be battling them consistently for the top spot.

No one debates the money was/is dirty. But in football its far too easy to spend that money on nothing, which Man City didn't do.

I often have this debate (largely with myself) whether, on balance, Man City have been good for English football. The same, to a lesser extent, with Chelsea.

People forget that the Premier League was the European Super League of its day. It was designed to lock the smaller clubs out or “… put them to sleep” as one Chairman notably stated.

What those Chairman didn’t anticipate is the succession of billionaire owners pouring money into the game. Those upstarts broke up the status quo, but where would we have been without them? Probably a succession of titles from Manchester United and the sort of dominance that Bayern or Celtic enjoy in their respective leagues.

The problem now is that these clubs have started to get at least as irritating as the ones they replaced. Despite the fact that people still cheer when Man City beat Liverpool or Man Utd to the title every season kids in cities from Leicester down to London are now wearing Man City shirts. They’ve now become the behemoth that they replaced.

Man United winning title after title would be wank. Man City will eventually tail off too but they’re mostly not insufferable.

This whole thing is ridiculous. How can they allegedly get away with not providing any accounts for some seasons.

It should be as simple as if you don't provide accounts, you can't take part in the league. No ifs or buts.

How can they fine clubs who have submitted accounts while Man city are allowed to continue to win leagues while in default.

The level of stupidity and culpability by the Premier league is mind Boggling.

You never got any of this crap when the FA were running football.

Do they?

I see very few kids in Man City tops, nothing like the number of Liverpool or Man U.

I speak to loads of people who say that their kids support Manchester City and that just wouldn’t had been a thing when I was at school. It’s a generational shift.

Man Utd and Liverpool may well still predominate, but it’s an emerging picture. That’s really the exact point I was trying to make. People still rejoice when Man City win the title at the expense of others (eg Liverpool), but at some point they will become as irritating as the clubs they replaced.
