So that would explain everything and make Cannon an excellent signing then, we assumed a striker was leaving so we signed an injured striker…

I actually don’t think Cannon is that good either.

Because 90% of the people on the forum don’t understand how the hierarchy of a business operates.

And the 10% that do blame the DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL, for you know, mismanaged football related activities of a football club.

Sorry, let me clarify.

Signing Cannon as a 4th choice striker is baffling.

I can assume we expected to sale 1 of Daka or Nacho and bring in another striker of a higher level then Cannon.

When that didn't happen I think we panicked know we were 1 injury to a 37 old away from having no striker over the afcon period.

So brought Cannon last minute.

We would have been better to buy another 8 who could have done a job up front.

On FFP front he's fee is only 1.4m a season on the accounts and probably similar wages.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him back on loan in Championship if we go up.

Signed to replace George Hirst?

Enzo, has always said  Cannon was a signing for the long term. We might not of seen the best of him this year, but if we remain in the championship, he will definitely get a decent amount of game time and hopefully he will be able to show us what he’s capable of.

Last minute panic buy = financially responsible 👍

You're dealing with a high net worth individual with a can do attitude right here, he's obviously got some great insight into the day to day running of the club.

A lot of our signings I felt contracts were too short, within 2 years there is pressure of boosting the contract to get the player to sign the extension as a 4 year contract is effectively a 2 year contract (unless you do what we do and wind the contracts down to nothing).

Anyone like KDH promoted up to squad should be on a 6-7 year deal for sure, as those players are typically on a nice low salary at that point of their career.

Keeping the wages down also makes players easier to shift.

I’ve been a Director of a variety of companies for over 25 years, so have a reasonable idea of how companies operate and what a Director’s responsibilities are. If that’s what you meant?

Wasn't referring to you 👍

You actually seem to get it.

Don't see Top letting him go but, after relegation then potential EFL and PL sanctions you would like to think that a shake up of the leadership would take place.

Ahh but that would mean admitting they're in the wrong.

Maybe.  If Top / the board had that concern they could offer the likes of Rudders other roles in the wider King Power organisation and spin it however they liked.

All that said I don’t expect any significant change of management.
