Just visited the "bluemoon" fans forum.

They have a poll on this match

87% home win

5% draw

8% Leicester win.

Most think we will park the bus.

But we have to look after our goal difference this might just keep us up !!

The 8% must be the Leicester fans visiting and voting, we probably won't get a result, but the result for me will be seeing us approach the match with an ounce of positivity

Blue moon seems to think they would start as strong as possible and then make changes once the game is won

If that was their way of thinking then we’d probably be best parking the bus and trying to keep them out for an hour.  But Pep may go in the opposite direction and have all his heavyweights on the bench

I think keeping the heavyweights on the bench is more likely, there's no guarantee u get a lead playing your strongest team from the start. Back in the day I remember numerous time when Barca were good, where they would be 0-0 at 60 mins and they'd end up winning 3 or 4-0

The object from what Smith was saying was to keep the opposition as far away from our goal as possible, which would be the opposite of parking the bus.

Man City were brilliant from the highlights I watched, but the Bayern defending is as bad as we've been recently, especially the 2nd goal. Hopefully Iverson doesn't have half as many saves to make as Sommer, who was also brilliant.

I appreciate Big Dan's energy but couldn't resist making the joke that he must be inspired to try and match Upamecano's performance.

I don’t think he was referring to Man City though !

Just want to see our players showing an interest, showing a bit of confidence and regaining something close to an identity. Getting anything would be a massive bonus but the reality is the best we can hope for is a respectable defeat, but there is always that part of you that thinks ‘you just never know’

We all know the games after Man City are the ones that will determine our future, though still think it may be too little too late, just make sure we beat the teams around us and if we do have to drop points it’s to Liverpool , Fulham and Newcastle as they don’t affect us.

Man.City dominate territory and possession against almost everybody so its no use saying we should do this or that ,  they won't let you. However compact organised defending can frustrate them and occasionally other teams beat them. Are we capable of that? The evidence is not so good. The main difference this season is Haaland. The sheer power and aggression of this kid is so difficult to deal with. Harry Souttar is big and strong enough , this could be his moment to make his mark.

I recon if Citeh rested their first team after the defeat of Bayern then they would still stroll this game. Probably if they fielded their woman's team they would still stroll it. I just don't see where the goals are coming from with Vardy so far off the pace and I can see where lots of goals conceded can come from.

They always moan about us parking the bus. If it's not the fans it's the players. One post reads "We struggled to beat them at their place earlier in the season due to an 8 man defence camped in their penalty area".

Maybe if the league was more of a level playing field and we could spend 100m on one single player then teams wouldn't have to go so defensive.

Honestly I can't stand them.

Agreed, Pep always moans about other teams being defensive and same with some of his players like Rodri and KDB. They just want everyone to go and attack them so they can win 6-0 every week. Entitled set of wa nkers

Smith has hardly ever played 5 at the back/wing backs so highly doubt he'll start now

...the players probably did not feel a bounce from the caretaker managers as what they brought was a continuation of Rodgers poor philosophy!!!

What they now have is someone with a plan and new ideas, they will turn up on Saturday.

I'd swap Vardy for Bertrand but other than that, seems great to me

We should line up in a similar way to Chelsea tonight, in terms of formation (I doubt we will, but anyway…)

3-5-2 with Maddison in the Felix roll

Iversen

Faes Souttar Evans

Ricardo Mendy Ndidi KDH Kristiansen

Maddison

Daka

Notes:

Castagne had a bad bad game against Bournemouth, so he misses out to VK.

Soyuncu can’t play in a three.

Our two currently fit top scorers are on the pitch

Vardy and Praet to come on for Madders and Daka when they start to flag

Ward, Amartey, Soumare, Thomas, Vestergaard and Bertrand are all abit Bobbins so should not play
