Dean Smith to Pep when he see's the big Nordic meat shield up top.

Posted

Smith has faced Pep Guardiola's City on six occasions over the years, including the 2020 Carabao Cup final, losing each and every one. The heaviest defeat in this sequence was a 6-1 mauling at Villa Park when Smith unusually opted for a reactive back-five system. "We gave them too much respect," Smith recognised at full time.”

Nailed on victory. It’s in the stars.

I wonder if they look at this and think it’s a chance to say to some of the boys who weren’t getting a look in - ‘go on, show me what you’ve got’.  They can’t do that in a winnable game. If SAS say that they just don’t know if cags is in the right mental place to play then give him a chance tomorrow - same with vestergaard. I would certainly play one of them.

and as I’ve said earlier in the week - I wouldn’t start madders.  he could do with resting that knee for the games to come.  We will have three games in nine days where we need at least two wins.

                              iverson

castagne    Faes.   Cags.    souttar.    VK

                mendy.   Ndidi.   KDH

                              Kel

                             Daka

And with that midfield not one forward pass will be made.

Seriously? You would drop Madders? Who's going to captain the side, Wilf?

We won’t have the ball - when we get it we’ll just punt it forward anyway

Iversen

Ricardo - Faes - Souttar - Kristiansen

Ndidi - Mendy

Tete - Maddison - Barnes

Daka

Won't get many chances, so have to be clinical. Need Maddison to be back on form, he's going to be our main threat.

Would love to shithouse a win but can't see it happening. Just hope we're defensively more resilient than we have ever been under Rodgers. Give Iversen as much protection as possible, give the defence as much protection as possible, but have enough on the pitch to counter when we can. Gonna be a long evening I think!

Deep and compact but show bravery on the ball and desire to move up the pitch quickly when the opportunity arises. Basically play like the 15/16 team.

Unless he names a severely weakened team with like 4/5 kids in, then get at em!

That midfield have proven they can’t be trusted or use their brains to punt the ball forward.  We might be 20 points better off if they had.

If someone offered a 2-0 loss now, would you take it...? lol

Provided we show fight and effort, yes.

If it's a case of Man City going 2-0 up early on before subbing off their big players and passing it round for the remaining 80 minutes then no.

To be honest if we could take the most unlikely 3 points of the season I could not give a jot if this helps Arsenal to the title

All aboard!!! Feeling stuff in me waters, the stars are aligning, I'm pretty sure this is when Vardy finally scores, tap in from a tete mazey run. After Bouba picks several pockets lays it off to cags, 70 yard pass to tete who sits Zabaleta down before skinning Kompany, squares it to Vardy, 1st time rocket past a wrong footed Joe Hart.

Before anyone puts on here what drugs am I on or what have I been drinking etc etc, I really do think we can get something out of this game might not be able to get the win but I recon now that John Terry has his hands on our defensive players he’ll be able to tighten them up can imagine he’s a bit like Roy Kent in Ted Lasso he’ll bully them into defending better & stronger and playing as a Team as when he played he was No slouch as a defender ( mind you then you could tackle a player without the ref going straight for his cards unless you ripped the Schitt out of your opponents legs!!) he was a quality defender in his time so I’m sure he’ll teach them a few things especially how to try and keep Haaland quiet.

Then with Dean Smith & Shakey can see our midfield wide and Central playing better than we have been and our strikers so long as they don’t throw Vards on from the start can see us being strong going forward and be more clinical, just hoping they bring our fun factor back in our play take away the nervousness each time we lose the ball keep our spirits up infact get our FUCHING MOJO Back get Madders playing back to his central slickness setting up players to Hurt Man City I have a feeling it will finish 2-2 Madders & Daka be great to get our fans singing our hearts out from start to finish be that 12th man can now say I’m looking forward to this game tomorrow cheering the lads on at the home of Oil City ?
