If he wants to stay, keep him - get back to full fitness and he will be one of, if not, the best full back in the Championship

Agree with this, rotate him and Ricardo so they don't play more than 1 match a week and have a solid option as a makeshift right back in the squad to cover any injuries.

Dream scenario if this guy stays, can't see it myself, he's easily a premier league player and was on the verge of England in his best form. I see a newly promoted team taking him or a Bournemouth or Brentford type team taking him for 15-20million.

If we get a good offer we should be offloading him, his wages combined with injury record mean it’s not worth the risk.

Between the players out of contract, with 1 year left or who would look to leave we're losing too many players already - without having to also sell players that have longer contract and wouldn't attract much interest/sales price.

Regardless. We are not financially in a position to keep an asset on £100k a week which has the potential to not raise a fee later in his contract. He needs to go and the talk is that he wants out.

Where are people getting 100k a week from? We wouldn't give him that, especially after his long term injury.

He's been unfortunate with injuries and we've rewarded him, for business reasons, I think he's a hard keep because he's one of the few youngish lads that probably haven't peaked with a possible future sale in the future. As an asset knowing his versatility and his peaks, if he shows consistent form he could be worth a hell of a lot more than he's worth today. Its a risk to keep him but I think he's a necessary player for next season - more likely to see Thomas leave tbh.

...with the relegation clause in place, we would be looking to pay £65k per week, which does seem expensive due to not having been available for some time!!!

His contract expires in 2026, next year is when we insist on either re-signing or being sold.

We have got to be ruthless. If we aren’t getting the value out of them and we have a good offer on the table, we need to go.

On the Big Strong Leicester Boys podcast the other week they said that Covs weekly wage bill is about £80k a week. Carrying a walking weetabix on £65k will see us disappear.

He's not going to be on 100k a week.

If he’s on a big wage this may suggest why there’s speculation- we are trying by to offload him.

I can’t imagine any PL club would target him with his injury issues. He’s not played more than 20 apps in the previous 2 seasons.

If he’s on anyway near 100k we are a shambles. No more than 50k surely

People are taking the total we spend on wages (including all players no matter what level, hundreds and hundreds of staff, bonuses etc etc and trying to fit that into 25 players. The answer is simply nobody knows what he's on. But it's highly unlikely a player returning from a serious injury, gets an 100k a week offer, especially when he's a defender.

Ricky P is a defender and on similar. Bertrand on 75k.

Our average is £86k a week, can you be sure?

How do you know what our average is? They don’t release any figures outside of a total wage figure. That includes wages and bonuses of 81 players 386 admin staff and 530 casual staff members.

They have to legally release the average.

are you sure that includes all the staff you mentioned? If so, we are probably a whole load more ****ed than I have anticipated if Janice pouring my half time Chang is included in that average.

All players have a 35-50% relegation pay cut.

Someone previously earning £100k, will now be earning £65k in effect from June 1st at a maximum.
