The fact that Cags starts today really shows how stubborn Rodgers actually was.

I will never forgive the man for our mess.

Expected but I'm sure Rodgers would be accused of being overly defensive with that line up. Back 5 and 3 in front of it.

How many touches for Vardy? Less than 10?

To be honest, how many times Vardy actually touches the ball in meaningfully areas ( yes limited possibility today bearing in mind the opposition) will be a good barometer of how much intent to get forward the team now has.

Under the B.R. nightmare mismanagement he was so isolated due to the negative ponderous playing style of the team.

If Smith is true to his word and has gotten them to play forward with more 'gusto'  hopefully Vardy will be more involved than he has in the past. I appreciate that on the past few occasions he has fluffed his lines where a confident ( that's the magic word here) would most probably scored.

We also need to remember that Shakey knows Vardys strengths and overall game inside out, so who better to try and bring this out of him and his teammates.

We also have only seen some lovely training photos and have know idea if my assumption above of playing to Vardy s know strengths has been worked upon or not.

Mendy > Ndidi

I'm not a Ndidi fan but I think it's smart by Smith, get free kicks in and around the area and fill it with players over 6ft, think that's the only chance we have

I wouldn’t read too much into the line up and the new management, to a degree it could be horses for courses based on the opposition and / or affected by Barnes unavailability. One true “decision” is Soyuncu ahead of Amartey. With the 3 CB’s we could have a chance of scoring from a corner (how we win one is another matter), it’s about time we got something from a set piece. The second coming of Huth?
