Anstey 0 - 2 Harborough

Best Team won on the day. If Harborough were more prolific in front of goal then it could have been double the score. The rapid Kai Tonge got the first in the 10mins. Anstey really pressed in the last 25 as Harborough began to tire but were wasteful with the small amount of chances that came their way. Harborough had initial control of the midfield with Duffy standing out. The real irony coming right at the end when ex Anstey ST Luis Rose, who had a huge amount of expected stick all game, rounded Logan and got the winner. Cue him running back to the Anstey Kop dishing out imaginary pound notes. Over 1100 in attendance and utter carnage around Link Road with Vehicles being towed away due to inconsiderate parking.

I was there as a Harborough fan and that’s a great summary.

I didn’t really fancy our chances having lost to Anstey this year, but they did the job.

Harborough v Anstey ?

If so, a match report please !

Indeed, got there just before kick off, parked 2 thirds up Cropston Road and legged it at about 2:57! Harborough scored early (Tonge), Nomads didn't really get a clear sight of goal first half, Harborough had more chances but Logan made a few saves, it was mostly Anstey second half but again didn't really have many clear cut chances, Hakeem had the best effort, Harborough always looked dangerous on the break and got the clincher in injury time (missed the build up, was looking at my phone, looked up and the lad was in), cue pitch invasion by the coaching team. Best team won, but what a season for Anstey, 2 defeats in the league all season, remarkable.

Leamington have beat Telford in the SPC playoff final.

Shocked, Telford are a far better side from what I’ve seen this season. Obviously didn’t turn up today.

I think most NLN clubs would rather Telford, many a big club has fallen at The New Windmill Ground

Moneybags Macclesfield lose in the playoff final to Marine

Definitely another managerial sacking on the way from the owner who doesn't want managers sacked when a pundit.

Very good game at the New Bucks Head, congratulations to Leamington to bouncing straight back up first time asking. Cracking atmosphere in front of a crowd, possibly just shy of 6k! and we're talking about the Southern League Central Premier Play Off final! possibly more than what would you get at some EFL League 2 gates! Decent chances for both in the first half, but I thought the second period Leamington just edged it and defended quite well. Telford didn't quite come out in the second half and I quite can't say if they troubled the keeper that half. Credit to both sets of fans who created a fine atmosphere and no hint of nastiness or trouble.

Speaking to some Telford fans on the train home, most felt the Telford players thought they just needed to turn up and totally underestimated Leamington. The guy I was speaking to said a lot of players, coaching staff and even some supporters acted like they were already promoted after the semi final. He was really critical of Wilkin, stating that with the squad they had they should have won the league comfortable, but laid into the negative tactics played that cost them wins in earlier in season.

Fair play Harborough. Think Anstey probably need another season at least to simply sort out their set up. That division could be really interesting next season with another moneybags project in Real Bedford coming in.

Early projections have the Southern Midlands Premier looking a lot more southern based with Bedford, Biggleswade, Lowestoft and Bishops Stortford in there.

Grantham showing as going into the midlands division next season, really welcome as the eastern division is exceptionally tough, it is a horrible league with so much travelling.

Stayed up winning 4 of the last 5 including last Monday and Wednesday, both away from home.

We've got a good, young manager (he's 26) and he's really turned it round. Had to say I was expecting step 5 and playing Sleaford, Deeping Rangers and Skegness Town!

Haven't seen much of the midlands division so will be interesting to see how we get on, lots of local games and a nice mid table boring season would be great!

North East trips are a killer and being Mids based will help recruitment.

Ironic it's called Southern League Central, but somehow you have teams from Suffolk, Essex, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire.. all taking part. When you think Central, you'd imagine either the midlands. Non league system is mucked up big time.

Realistically it should

be

Northern Premier Division (North West, North East and Northern part of Yorkshire, Northern Lincolnshire, North Wales)

Central Premier Division (West Midlands, East Midlands, Southern part of Yorkshire, Southern Lincolnshire, Norfolk)

South East Premier Division (Suffolk, Essex, Greater London, South West Coast, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Southern Oxfordshire)

South West Premier Division (Dorset, West Country, South Wales, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire)

Then.

Northern Division One East

Northern Division One West

Central Division One East

Central Division One West

South East Division One

South Central & South Division One

When you look at it on a map it's not too bad and makes sense if you want to have leagues that are equal and not one league having 30 teams and another have 14.
