Brentford just bid £30m for Brenan Johnson and people on here don't think Barnes will go for £50m or more?

Okay 😳

Clubs know we need the money after letting Soy and Tiele walk and by getting relegated. If we keep Barnes another season we'll get less. Shoes on the other foot this time.

We've got some good business people at the club, we won't get bullied into some of the fees quoted on here.

Hey, dare I even say it were that stubborn he could go on a free in a 2 seasons time.

We aren’t gonna let him go on a free ahaha. He’ll go for £30/35m, we are in the Championship mate, we’ve got no bargaining power here

If the people saying we will only get 30m are correct then it may be worth keeping him for a year or at least until January. He has 2 years left on his contract. If he can reproduce his WBA form he could help us get promotion. Even with a year left on his contract he would still be worth close to 30m unless he really downs tools, which would be cutting off his nose to spite his face.

It's absolutely not worth selling him for £30 million, 1 year of Barnes would be worth much more in the championship.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12198693/Tottenham-submit-50m-JOINT-bid-James-Maddison-Harvey-Barnes.html

"Tottenham have made their first big move of the transfer window and submitted a joint bid for Leicester's James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.

The club has tabled an offer of £50million for both of the players in the wake of Leicester's relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

However, the Foxes are unlikely to accept the fee from the north London club, having previoulsy valued the players at a combined £120m."

Here's the thing, had they offered £75 million for the pair we'd look at it and think 'Ok, they're trying their luck but they're not completely taking the piss'. At £50 million they are completely taking the piss.

We should put at 10m bid in for Kane, he’s only got 1 year left on his contract.

Fully agree with you, worse case scenario with Barnes is we don't get our price and we keep him and he's the best player in the Championship and then we might take 30m this time next year.

Maddison obviously a different animal with one year left but with Barnes we don't need to be backed into a corner as we have leverage.

£50m offer accepted, now which one of the two do you want?

I fully agree. I realise the need to rebuild the squad, but there is no urgency to sell Barnes as will go straight back up (:)),&  Barnes could be instrumental in that. Furthermore, some stability must be helpful ie there has to be a balance between established players and new arrivals.

Given Barnes is local and with LCFC a long time , I would hope he would be reluctant to leave. Provided he is fit, he would be dominant in Championship.

In my view not worth selling (unless a silly offer - unlikely) given the importance of return to PL ASAP.
