Don’t think we’ll go straight up and I think we need to look at a planning for a couple seasons and a proper, thorough rebuild. Starting by clearing the rotten foundations.

Won’t happen though.

I thought this. The Director of football should be the one setting out a plan of how the footballing side of the club should operate. Appoint a competent director of football who then plays a part in appointing the manager.

It also allows continuity for approach should the manager inevitably leave

Rudkin has overseen the purchase of complete cross far too long. He’s a chancer. Get rid.

Whelan backed Rodgers I understand. Get rid.

coaches are all mediocre. Get rid.

Rebuild from the ground up with actual professionals who know football.

It’s time for Top to put on his big boy pants and make some proper decisions.

Get some more clappers and honesty flags in. They clearly make such a difference.

Aw Kel, he is genuinely gutted 😔 "we" hopefully means he will stay 🙏

If could say stay for one year to get us back up I reckon he could score 40 goals in the championship

Technically the first thing the club will be doing is laying off staff who didn't deserve it. Such a shame that they will pay the price for hierarchy's failings.

According to Tanner on the Athletic yesterday most of the cuts will be on the football side not the day-to-day running of the club.

Although that probably doesn't extend to the "can I help" guys in the fluorescent pink bibs.

Do something radical and unexpected (like make good decisions for once in their lives)

I know its a bit far fetched and asking a lot with this hierarchy but still.

It’s actually unbelievable that they didn’t have 2 statements ready, for either scenario. This leads me to believe, they STILL didn’t think we would go down. Baffling.

It's not unbelievable though is it? Nothing they've done in the last 2 years would lead you to believe they have any clue about what they're doing in the next 5 minutes let alone the next 5 weeks.

Problem number is the incompetent owner. We can’t just “get rid” so deal with his incompetency first and foremost.

1. he is dependant on one person to tell him about football. Incredible that being by the side of his father who eventually wanted him to take over, he didn’t spend time improving his knowledge of the game. I mean what else was he doing with his time. His laziness means we need a group to undertake this role. Being reliant on one, heavily under qualified man doesn’t work. Bring in some trusted voices, guys like Huth, Morgan and maybe Kasper to tell him the truth.

2. He isn’t sacking Rudkin. Even though it’s painfully obvious he has failed, he just doesn’t have the know-how, character, balls - whatever you want to call it, to do it. “Promote him” instead. Not a real promotion, a promotion to get him out of the firing line and under the “advisory board” above hire a DOF who at least has earned some plaudits in a similar role.

3. a manager. Not one of a particular style but one with innovative ideas, understanding of modern football, keen to learn and grow. Someone who isn’t set in early 2000s. Have responsibility of style dictated by the DOF after approval of the advisory board.

4. Head of Recruitment, Head of Medical, Head of coaching to flow from there.

Basically manage the incompetent bunch as best as we can until a sale is very much a realistic possibility, if Top wants to pretend he is the mastermind to massage his ego, let him but under no circumstances should he be anywhere near decision making.

Back in the league one relegation, the apparently mad old fart Mandaric played a bit of a blinder tbf.

First he didn't knee jerk sack Holloway. Instead, he was asked to work his notice, sort out the retained lists and pre season training plan and freindly schedules. I think Holloway stayed for 4 weeks or so before his inevitable sacking

Second, Mandaric interviewed on Radio Leicester reassuring there was to be no financial meltdown

Yes, but Smith isn't even a permanent manager, so for him to hang around for 4 weeks to sort out the retained list we would have to offer him a new contract which I certainly don't want to happen.

Get rid of those who don't want to be here. Rodgers kept players like Tielemans when it was clear he wanted to leave so get rid and get as much money as we can.

Then build/promote the team around our younger players and buy hungry players who have quality but are desparate to play for Leicester.

I'm happy with the management set up we have for the Championship.

The current trajectory is League One not promotion so a lot needs to change immediately to alter the course of this club.

Rudkin & co out and Walsh & co promoted will just be the start of the weeding out process.

If they haven't war roomed this situation and planned for next season based on the two eventualities then the board should leave at the earliest oppotunity.

I suspect there are offers already on the table for Barnes and Maddison.

Why do that. It would be corporate tokenism and who wants that. Better have a  considered response.

I doubt they'll do/say anything until they've had a proper sit down board meeting review.

I wouldn't hold your breath...

I would really like Wes, Huth and Kasper involved

I think any of those (or Sharky when he retires) would be good fits for what's called a "Team Manager" on the continent - not a Head Coach or DoF type manager but organisational - travels everywhere with the team, sorts the admin and logistics, arranges friendlies/training camps, makes sure that the playing squad have the things they need, acts as an auxilliary leadership figure which we've been sorely lacking. A lot of former players in Italy and Germany for example graduate to that role. (A bit like what Heskey seems to be doing with the women's side when he's not coaching?)

They've had 8 weeks to plan their response. Having an interim manager should have given them time to assess and even interview the next manager. We didn't get relegated yesterday, it happened over months and they should have a plan in place for it.

Kel scores a shed load in the npower. Really hope we can keep him. Love him to bits.

Yeah I've said this before, he will tear the league apart, keep him even if it means losing him for free the year after
