Another hard week of nothing next week, then it should be about time for Rudkin to settle down for a good 2-3 week holibobs on a beach somewhere, to really recharge the batteries ahead of a busy period of nothing until that pre-season Asia tour, when it will suddenly dawn on him that we have about 10 players left and no manager as the season starts.

He's in his office now, writing "Steven Gerrard?" and "Frank Lampard?" in curvey lettering in the margins of his copy of The Racing Post.

Eight weeks.

This club is beyond parody these days.

So glad I’ve mentally checked out and now have a non-league season to look forward to.

The lot of them, completely hopeless.

Worse than non-league . Kettering Town sacked manager at end of season. They have appointed new manager and we are still waiting

Top, Whelan and Rudkin should not be having holidays this summer. They have a great deal to do, and the second two have to prove they are worthy of their jobs. If City are top of the Championship in November then they will have earned a week off but the January window will be just round the corner and I don't believe for a minute that a promotion-ready squad will be completely together by the end of August.

Rudkin wont be leaving.

If this turns out to be true (and I don’t doubt it will be), we are .f***ed

Although only have four players confirmed for next season, just slightly worse 😂

I've recently (a week ago) realised deep in my mind that we're going to be playing in Championship next season. My heart felt the impact first and now I have come eventually into terms because as a fan this will change some of my life schedule. I hope I don't sound dramatic, it's just football anyway, but can someone make a sensible recap where we're standing now? Is there a plan, who is staying, who is leaving, which are the board expectations for next season? It's all very blurry. Or is it just me feeling this way?

It's not just you. It is blurry. So far we have:

Top telling us some of the fanbase have been offensive (shock) and a vague claim about an assessment and actions.

Some players leaving or not having their contract renewed.

A claim from the Atlantic that Rudkin and Whelan are doing an internal review.

Foxes Trust telling us we are where we are.

UFS telling us to join the singing section.

Some apparent ITK telling us to be patient.

It feels like the club are suffering from the breakup of cult Brendan and are unsure how to independently act again.

There seems no difference between how the Top, Rudkin, the board and the club acted in our last season disasterous season and now.

Let's hope there's a sea change happening behind the scenes.

Little will change beyond a new manager.

The same or similar systems and structures will be in place reporting in to Rudders etc.

I expect the main ‘learning’ they will take away is to not make the same mistakes with buying the wrong players / overpaying on wages.

No club intends to do that tho so that fcuked up thinking. Obviously It is more likely to happen when you don’t have the right  people in the right roles.

They should have started planning at xmas but obviously didn't.

Then after employing a stop gap manager should have ramped it up a gear.

But no wait until the season's over, giving us 10 weeks.

What's the betting it's all done in 10 days.

The club really does need a detective to investigate what's really happened/currently happening..

Don’t Give a toss what Top does with his wealth and spare time as long as he looks after our club. Right now my sites are set on what rudkin and whelan are doing to fix the mess they got us in

Well , Top is a pissy pants little tubby baby who has no clue what he’s doing. He’s turned the club into some cult like memorial to his father. The whole club is shite.

If we kick the stadium expansion into the long grass, you will know that this era is over. We will now be a club on a budget. Cheaper players on much lower contracts will be the norm. Inspite of what some on here believe , with a few exceptions , you usually get what you pay for  -  or in many cases. ( Sancho) you don't even get that.

I worry the club has the same overly confident attitude to the Championship as they did to us staying up. Need to see some positive signs that this isnt the case next week, but the fact we have the same masterminds that got us in this mess still working at the club, I'm not confident at all. I actually thought we'd see some immediate changes to the board and coaching team.

The world turns on its axis. One man works, while Rudders relaxes.

The big Whelan keeps on turning

It will certainly hit hard when the fixtures are announced next week.

I’ve kept myself busy watching these European finals but I’m dreading next week when there’s bugger all to watch. I guess there are some meaningless international friendlies going on. When is the women’s WC starting?

all the podcasts have dried up there’s simply nothing to report on lcfc atleast anything of new. Guess we will know when we know. God help us all!

MLS! Better than nothing.

Might be the budget type appointment we are looking for. Gerrimin.

Don’t think he was sacked, he walked out I believe.
