I'd imagine our contract was to include Vards and Maddison, who we"ll now have to cover with a suitable replacement name

Cov have announced 2 of theirs already,Milton Keynes and Exeter  away ,there the sort of clubs we should be  playing ,not pissing about on the other side of the  world.

I was always annoyed that after winning the league we played in that stupid cross country tournament. We played sides that we’re miles ahead of us (other than celtic) mostly got smashed and were constantly jet lagged. There was absolutely no surprise when we lost to hull on the opening day, not because of quality but because we were so unprepared.  An easy 3 points squandered and the season was an uphill battle from there. 


With the champions league to come, there was no need for the big games… we had plenty to come. But rather than actually preparing the squad for the season we tired them out before what was already going to be a very long season. 

 

Seems like more of the same… the championship is definitely a marathon, good conditioning and a competent medical team is essential for being competitive over 46 games.  This tournament as well as signing players who likely won’t have a proper pre-season could well lead to a very slow start from us. Which is the last thing we need. 

 

I’m not sure getting pumped by spurs of all teams will be the boost we need, even if we do get a few million for it.

Even when we won the league there was very little change whilst I was living in thailand. people at least knew we existed or we were  a second team  but they very much follow teams that are going to win. That’s why there were also no spurs or arsenal fans out there. 

 

Mostly Man U and Liverpool which i guess was mostly historical with chelsea and man city next. 

 

 

Even the fans at the parade just showed up and pretended to be fans.

 

 being ‘king power’ isn’t a positive thing in that country right now.

I enjoy (for some reason) the commercial concept of brand building. I've been banging on for 4 or 5 years now that we haven't attempted.to commercialise the markets that may warm to an alternative,.renegade  PL brand,.ie the US and Europe. Asia simply don't do rebellion.

 

These ghastly friendlies at the KP,.with us PAYING German or Spanish clubs who weren't fit to wipe our arse. We shouldve been there, being.PAID. The whole concept of those KP wank friendlies sent out entirely the wrong message.

Fair enough - take your point, I wouldn’t have a clue but surely 15/16 has left some residual fans. 
Out of interest how do you think we should tackle growing out the club commercially abroad?
