I see Leeds are close to sorting out a 1 year loan deal for Aaronson to join Fulham, with an official saying, "the hope is we can keep him long term, if we return to the PL".

I wonder if that might be the thinking for some players at the KP. There is already some talk of Nacho going 'up the road' on loan - perhaps that route might be considered for one or two others?

Fulham have always been good at this, because they are used to Yo-Yoing, so it's not a surprise to see them dipping in to the championship with the boot on the other foot this time!

I don't think we have that many it would work for really, contract wise, Daka would be the obvious and Nacho, but really with Ricardo ageing and others with only a year left, it wouldn't really work.

I don't think we have anyone good enough on a long enough contract to make it work.

If Nacho had 5 years left on his contract then maybe it would make sense. He's not going to be snapped up by a top 7 club and if this is a 1 season blip he is arguably going to be better off at newly promoted Leicester than Brighton or Villa or Fulham come August 2024. However with 2 years left it just poses too much risk for both club and player.

Why so angry?

In the case of Aaronson at Leeds it is going to be the club hedging their bets not the player thinking they are above anything.

They can't afford the wages in the championship but don't want to be forced to sell a player on the cheap, this deal suits Leeds and a player that doesn't want to be sold to balance the books. Fair play to Aaronson I know a number of players who wouldn't agree to such a deal.

Angry? :S

Why wouldn't Aaronson be happy? He gets to keep his big Premier League wage.

I've noticed you're not allowed to show emotion on here any more without people taking it the wrong way lol

For most it’s a no from me, couldn’t be arsed in the Prem last season so what makes anyone think it would be different again? Drain the swamp.

Personally I don't have any time for a player that doesn't want to help us get out of the Championship.

Anyone thinking they're above playing for us in this league can absolutely **** off.

Yeah, I agree with this.  Let our better players, who got us relegated, go and play on loan in the prem.  Then if we go back up, the players that helped ys do that can move aside and we'll welcome those loanees back into the squad.

No chance.

I'd entertain the idea with Harvey and Justin, but nobody else. We definitely should be doing it sparingly if at all.

Because he's missing out on a big fat signing on fee and most likely a wage increase if he signed permanently for Fulham or anyone else.

Just no, fed up with players that don't want to be here.

They got us into this mess to help get us out of it.

Helping get us out of it can be either staying and working your ass off to get us back up or leaving for a decent fee.

I don't understand the willingness to keep players who don't want to be here.

This is a hypothetical thread about a possible loan option that other clubs in our position have used and whether it is something we should be looking at.

We've already had: fvck the players, they can **** off, p*** off, drain the swamp.

You're allowed to show emotion but it is so boring when every possible discussion is just slagging off the players.

Whilst I agree with the general sentiment, there's also some book balancing involved isn't there. Some players wages might just be too high for us to keep whilst we're down.

I dont think we have many on long enough term contracts for it if I'm honest. Ricardo is the only one that springs to mind, we pay him 80 odd thousand don't we so it wouldn't hurt to get that off the wage bill this year and if he's fit he's clearly good enough to be playing top flight football for someone.

Others still with a fair few years left going to be Daka (75k), Soumare (80k), Faes (50k). Despite many foxestalkers probably keen to write all three of those off permanently, I'm actually happy to see whether Enzo can get a tune out of them but that's a lot of money between the three for a Championship wage bill and it might help the club to loan them out for a year and recoup some of that.

I'd be happier with players going out on loan to a foreign top flight club for the year than being loaned to the premier league.  As others have said it sends out a poor message to the players willing to battle to get us back up.  It also fuels the idea that these players are too good to go down which they have clearly proved is a falsehood.

Frankly those players still here (and subject to Enzo wanting them) need to stay and help get us out this mess that their crap performances got us in.

I think it will happen with a few of our players:

- Ricardo. On big wages, a great player on his day but a questionable signing for anyone to make because of his injury record. So I can see a team loaning him for a season, perhaps with an option to buy. Personally, I'd keep him because he'd be one of the top 5 players in the division, but I think there will be interest in him.

- Soumare. Big wages, never done it for us. Can't see another team risking signing him, so I could see a French team loaning him from us instead, which at least gets the wages off our books.

- Vestergaard. Similar story to Soumare, but he probably goes to Germany instead.

- Prate. The same, but goes to Torino.

I don't think it's a question of players thinking they are too good for us, it's just getting the weekly wage bill down to manageable levels. We were relegated with the highest wage bill in Premier League history, and had the 8th or 9th highest wage bill last season. A lot of players are now off the books, but we still have some big outgoings. Sadly we won't get fees for a some of our players, so it will a loan out instead.

I can see why Leeds might do this, a lot of said players ha e signed in the last year or so and have at least 4 years or more on their contracts. Likewise the salaries they're on aren't on average £94k a week like ours, even if you take the reduction due to relegation in to account.

They can afford to loan with a hefty loan fee for a year and re-assess next summer. We want and need to get a lot of players off our books.

The only one worth doing it would probably be Soumare, makes no sense to send Nacho out on loan

I think we'll end up loaning some players out but that's not because we'd like to have them back if we get promoted. It'd be due to the fact nobody would want to buy them and we'd like to get their wages off the books. Soumare being a prime example.

There's nobody who I think we should or could loan out and get back next season if we were back in the Premier League.
