It’s very simple, he’s the Kel replacement. Kel has a year left, unlikely to sign up to a better deal. So why not get someone younger, onto a longer deal whilst also having proven themselves in the championship as Kels replacement?

Is he worth £15m?

Doesn’t he only have one year left on his contract? If so he’s worth no more than £10m maximum.

Only way I would feel comfortable spending £15m is if the club are confident his resale value will make us a good chunk of profit in the future.

Well, if there are 6 teams chasing him, it kind of negates the contract issue.

Exactly. If our attitude is, "He's only got one year left so he's only worth £10m," then our already-slim chance of getting him will diminish to zero.

It's up to us to convince him he has a better long-term future with us than with either of those two. I think that should be doable.

If we sign his missus for the Woman’s team that would be a way :D

And also that he's going to be valued.

If we're genuinely after Piroe then I assume one of Daka or Iheanacho is going if not both.

Botha  Forest and Everton have very established 9s. Forest's just near single handedly kept them in the league, Everton's is low key woeful but for some reason that's not the perception of him broadly. You wouldn't expect Piroe to walk straight in to either starting line up.

There is no way we have more pull than either of those teams now. Forest will do ok next year I reckon, signed so many players last year and can just keep the ones that worked. They will fill in the gaps with some big money, also finished the season well.

Everton were so close last year that I don’t think they will want that to happen again. Survival will give them confidence and I would imagine Dyche will organise them a lot more with a full pre season. As for FFP, nothing will happen there. We all know it.

if I were Piroe, both are better options and will pay more money.

Kelechi goes to Forest and we get Piroe. Everton haven't got a pot to piss in with all the ffp breaches they are facing. Also not sure Piroe would suit Dyche hoof ball tactics.

We need to go in with a high bid and make him feel wanted if we’re to get him. I hope we do.

Offering him a higher wage will make him feel more wanted. Not spunking more money on his transfer fee of which I'm sure he doesn't give a shit about.

You could have said the same about Everton this time last year too, and yet they ended up in the same situation on the last day. They are an absolute mess behind the scenes, and Kenwright is sticking around. I don't see the situation getting any better there.

As for FFP, we know nothing will happen to Man City and their army of lawyers, but I'm not so convinced that they won't try and make an example of Everton.

Players are advised by agents who will ensure the player signs with the club offering the best contract (obvs). Can't see us competing with any Premier League club, even Luton. Football career is secondary.

i’d have been happy getting him for 20 in the prem so it’s a yes from me.

Feels like the perfect fit for us.

reposting the heat map from a couple of seasons ago that showed how much swansea conceded and had to kick off 😂😂😂

hed fit in well with our defence

*fair to note as i don’t want to mislead, in this season he was used more as a rw than a striker. this year he was used more centrally. played well in both

Piroe replacement?

i don’t think there’s a question about piroe leaving… Just whether or not we can attract him.

Our project is very attractive as a lot of players will see us as a route to the prem but as a striker… currently, you’d be a little unsure of game time looking at who’s on our books.

He’d have to back himself to be selected ahead of daka and vardy… but I think Piroe would embrace that.
