Easy to blame JJ but that 1st goal was all on Buonanotte as he was in ‘control of the ball’ JJ wasn’t but FB is the current FT darling so  immune to criticism 🤷‍♂️

& yes I know poster mention his name but it’s passed over and full blame laid at JJs feet/knee.

Facundo shouldn't be trying to dribble out but even once they've won it off him, we win it again on the cross, and JJ then ****s up the clearance. it's not by any stretch "all on Buonanotte"

Despite Buonanotte losing possession, if JJ had made the  routine clearance properly then we don't concede the first goal.

Proper good 45 minutes so far from JJ tonight...

2 goals down the right, including 1 by his man getting in easily behind him

As well as heading it in his own net

Bizarre decision to play him tonight. He's in horrible form, famously injury-prone and has struggled for fitness in the second half of games recently....what was to be gained by starting him in a game we were clearly going to throw anyway? Now his confidence will just be even more shot.

Costing us a goal a game these days. Injury really buggered him.

....and that's on his better days, and I'm not even joking. It's such an obvious area for other managers to exploit, yet Cooper seems to throw him to the slaughter every week. Watch Ipswich do exactly the same again on Saturday.

I think it means he won’t be involved on Saturday.

Have always loved JJ, but he’s struggling.

Shouldn’t be playing at the moment.

Yes, he's been a superb player and I like that his interviews are actually meaningful and he comes across as a good character.

He's being asked to do too much and his form is very poor.

Needs to be rested

Never really got going again after all his injuries.

Thought he was defensively poor last season, which is get even more exposed at a higher level.

We have 4 fullback, none of them currently good enough for this level.

From The Times' report of the match, they mention JJ three times:

Goal one:

Not quite the way Justin wanted to see his name in lights, was it?  :(

:(

Like the guy, there’s a good player in there that we won’t see again because of the injuries. Badly needs taking out the firing line for a few weeks, for his own good as much as ours

Understand this sentiment but who would we play instead? The only available alternative is poor old Luke Thomas, given that VK is injured.

Why is he playing 90 mins in every competition right now? If any one needs a bit of rotation and rest, its JJ. He's being overplayed in a defence that takes pelters every game, in a role that is pretty demanding. He is one tackle away from being out for the rest of the season.

Part of me wonders that he played because the Saturday team will have Riccy and Vik starting? But i would put 10 quid on JJ being in the starting line up against Ipswich.
