In fairness to him, he’s never had a run of games here. Been underwhelming at best when he has played but realistically he needs more games in order to be judged and right now, we might as well give him it. I don’t think faes in particular should be picked over him

Coady can’t play in a back 4. Never really has in his career. Started as a midfielder but became a specialist back 3 centre back under Nuno at Wolves. He became a bench player as soon as Wolves started to move away for a time from 3 at the back. Moved to Everton on loan and by the end of a relegation threatened season had lost his place in a poor team as new boss Dyche preferred a back 4. He’s not had a run of games since he was dropped by Everton in January 2022 and that’s included a season in The Championship with us. For all of his flaws, Faes is better than Coady in a back 4 which should tell us all we need to know about the absolute state of our defence.

Shocked to see that the fans of the teams who'd had him before were laughing their heads off at us being stupid (as usual) and were in time proven correct (as usual).

Don't want to hugely dig him out - just amateurish from those at the top, again.

When he's front and centre of that Copenhagen video and his top features are supposedly the likes of professionalism and leadership then I think it's safe to say we've been done.

I’d take the point if there was photo or video in a random nightclub the day of a loss fair enough but this wasn’t that. I really don’t think him being daft with the other players at a sanctioned Christmas party means he’s unprofessional or not a leader.

Whether he’s a good enough player is obv a different conversation completely.

Very low bar

Yeah because he's barely had a game. Miles better than anything Faes would serve up.

Not a long term solution but some of the people saying this is our worst signing ever are beyond dramatic.

I just don't think he's good enough. I'm not saying anything other than that.

Good enough; not enough.

Games like today, for various reasons, are where you want your players to stand up and be counted. He did that today in spades. He marshalled the defence and he was constantly talking, defending on the front foot and was good on the ball. Can’t ask for anymore.

Our defence has been a shambles all season and today he was part of a back line that deserves a bit of credit. One swallow doesn’t make a summer but give him a run of games, which he has never had in a Leicester shirt, and we might see the Coady that was good enough to push for an England spot, not the glorified cheer leader he’s been for the last 18 months

As I said in the Vestergaard thread him or Vesty alongside the pacy Okoli for me but the calmness he showed all night was a breath of fresh air

Nice to see a defender  sometimes just hit row Z instead of fannying about .

Agreed but I thought overall his passing was generally solid today.  Basically, just good decision making throughout the game.

Who saw this one coming - not me for one and Im fine to admit it - he looked off the pace in the championship - football really is a funny old game - he was absolutely superb today and on Tuesday - him and vesty actually look decent together- I’m not sure how but it’s true - you’d have thought they would have got ran ragged but the pair of them have been proper decent 2 games in a row - fair play to Connor - cracking bloke - he must be buzzing as surely he must have even thought his time at that level had gone - keep it going lad

Yelling at the players in the warm up (although Vards completely ignoring him!). Leadership shines through. 2 good games. Him and Vesty made a decent pairing.

Think him and Vesty should be the pairing going forward. People always harp on about a lack of pace, but that's only really exposed when you play a high line and try to dominate possession of the ball, which in this league we won't.

What we need are 2 solid defenders, which they both are. And with Vesty having the ability to pick a pass into midfield or into the front man off both feet, its what we need to beat the press of some of better sides.

Nice to see some leadership as well, compare that to Faes smirking away to himself when he has had another howler.
