Perez.

I still think that the hate he got was a result of the price tag.

He was positionally a very good player, fantastic when off the ball, good awareness and was capable of hitting the net. He did however get bullied off the ball a lot and misplaced a fair few passes, which is a lot more noticeable than his qualities.

I'm not saying he's the best player we've had or anything, but I'd go as far to say that he's been one of the most effective options on the right wing since Mahrez left, only really competing with Lookman.

For me I can’t think of weaker forward player we’ve had in recent years with the ball at his feet, other than a couple of games where he made excellent contributions, generally he was very poor. He was so slow and you could literally see the cogs moving in his brain.

Definitely one who divides opinions, good shout.

I would argue that he was never actually that good for us on the right, he just benefitted massively from having prime ricardo pereira behind him. After Ricardo got injured Perez's weaknesses as a right winger were highlighted and he struggled to get consistent starts thereafter.

I don’t know about the wider fan base but I had a mate who would be driven round the bend by Dyer, less so in our promotion season(s)!

Yes but considering what level we were at the time he had pace and gave his all every game and that's all we Leicester fans asked of our players ( we were easily pleased back then ) but he was a big part of our gaining promotion to the prem that year. And for that, I would be the guy a pint any day and never think of him as divisive.

Andy king

Who the flip didn’t love the Championship’s Frank Lampard? The epitome of a club man who never put in less than his all. And with Dele Ali’s stick riding at an all-time high, Kingy placed him in his pocket - and Ali never recovered.

I always remember Dean Sturridge being a bit like marmite. He was only here for a short while. Went to Wolves and scored a lot but we replaced him Dickov who did very well for us.

Lee Philpott and Oldfield in my early years. Andy Impey. Gary Rowett. Nikos Dabizas. Andy King. Just some I remember who either got praised by some and criticised by others.

I think we have a section of supporters who expect players to be perfect and never make a mistake.

They are very vocal and if you read through threads on here Kasper, a lot wanted him to be replaced by Hamer, Zieler, Ward… Mahrez was lazy, Vardy is past it at least once a season since he joined.

I think Kante is the only player I haven’t seen a negative post about whilst playing for us.

A lot of it comes down to people wanting to be right about a player, rather than looking at the whole picture.

As soon as we are linked with a player, people often make their minds up he’s a good signing or he’s shite and then look for evidence to support their opinion rather than the facts.

The other thing is in the game today there is an over reliance on stats as the only way to measure a players ability. So much of what a player does can not be measured by stats - take Neil Lennon for example, a legend for us, but most of what he did was off the ball and things that wouldn’t be measured by stats, I think if he played today we’d have a lot of supporters saying what does he do and bringing out stats to try and prove he’s crap. In reality he kept us ticking along nicely and let Muzzy and Guppy provide all the stats.

I don’t understand the Praet negativity, think he’s underrated on here and I will NEVER be convinced otherwise.

Literally every player bar Kante will have split opinion at some point. People have different perspective, different characteristics and qualities they judge players by.

Pretty sure it's only N'golo that put is so many consistent 8+ out of 10 performances that nobody could find a bad word about him. Although as soon as he was leaving, some people quickly turned to be fair lol

When I went on a stadium trip 3 or 4 years ago, Walshie and Elliott, who were the hosts, both agreed that the only player from their era,  who would get in the current team, was Muzzy. Anyone describing him as just hard working with a few skills, did not see him play. He was a super, extremely skilful footballer, who, if Glen Hoddle hadn’t have been the England manager, would have played for England . He was the top scoring midfielder in the country, but as Hoddle had sold him to City, never got a chance, so played for Turkey. Muzzy in his time, would have easily competed in today’s Premier League. Don’t compare him to Lennon as they were totally different types of players.

Between the post title season and the start of last season by which time his powers had admittedly faded, every time we had a bad result Albrighton would be thrown out with the bathwater on here by many regardless of his performance. Then there would be humble pie munching or at least silence when he'd have outstanding performances in our victories. I just think his unglamorous style (playing - not an attack on his fashion sense), quiet down to earth persona makes him an easy target - oh the boring one, the unflashy one, the one who gets on with it and works hard doing stuff we don't notice, gerr'im out and bring in a performing seal who can do 5 step overs then run the ball out of play. The new toy, the new flashy car over the reliable one. There's also his evolution to factor in, as he aged he evolved into a more solid James Milner type who could plug into various positions such as wing back and do a job for the team, playing with wisdom and maturity, some of us could see that, some couldn't.
