Or a move is someway along the line for Ward, like it clearly is for Barnes. Obviously, Ward won't command the press interest so we probably won't hear anything until the moves conclusion.

Soumare could be in the same situation.

Try Daka in Vardys position as a lone striker, only fair. Vardys not playing every game so give others a chance if thats the system

Might as well play me there.

I guarantee I wouldn't be worse than Daka.

I'd probably have a cardic arrest 20 minutes in to the first game and still be ahead of him for the rest of the season.

We tried that last season and he was horrendous. Those few that still back Daka even said it doesn’t work and we need to apparently build the entire formation round him and play him in a 2.

the vardy goal looked very good play, despite the awful camera angle they allowed us.

Struggling to see why it was behind closed doors 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I don't think Maresca would be playing Praet in his first choice XI if he didn't rate him.

Praet pretty much typifies the Mezzala role that's so popular in Italy (attacking number 8 who plays in the half-spaces, acting like a pseudo-winger)

surely we won’t have a manager who plays praet in his actual position?

pretty incredible that we spent all that cash on him and never actually used him as anything other than a spare part

Would low-key kind of love it if McAteer came out of nowhere and became a regular in the first-team squad.

I realise he's been in and around the squad for a while and had a couple of loans out but I don't think he's ever been hyped as one of our superstars so I'd be really happy if he just suddenly steps up and takes his chance.

It's exciting to see Marçal-Madivadua getting game time as well. With Barnes going it would be great if these two, along with Alves and Braybrooke, can make their marks this season.

I honestly think he has a very good chance at making it as the back up to KDH in that LCAM role.

Justin has worked his bollocks off all summer to be fit in time for pre-seaskn, Souttar has come back to pre-season over a week early and both seen as 2nd string it would appear. Whilst Castagne and Praet openly want out and seemingly very much in Maresca's plans unless told otherwise.

Sometimes it takes more than effort and determination or a lack of to sway the manager otherwise!

Is this the case? Praet rightly wanted out under Rodgers who was clearly a buffoon and never gave certain players a look in but he seems to have buckled down and is getting a chance.

I’ve not heard or ready anything of Castagne wanting out, yes he’s been linked away but not heard him asking and the shifts he’s put in haven’t been half hearted.

I think they are both assets and if they really wanted out and were likely to go, they wouldn’t be starting. Both of them fit Maresca’s style with Praet potentially a Poundland KdB

We shall see…

Because they wanted to play three 45 minute segments instead of just two. I'd imagine they can't just do that in a standard friendly match with supporters present.

They can.

Unsure if the players did but certain parts of the club flew out to Asia pretty much straight after the game (well travelled to the airport). So I think it was a logistical thing more than anything.

Well said..shout it out loud..

Many posters/fans can't differentiate, between assumptions from media reports and

What the player actually wants and do.

Plus in the summer agents will put the feelers out,and why shouldn't a player test the water..but still keep his loyalties to present club.

This came out same day Enzo was appointed so he might have changed obviously but certainly to me it sounds like someone trying to find a way out

“I'll see what happens in the future,” Castagne said at a press conference. “A decision will be made. It's delicate, of course. The objective is always a top club, but the risk is to wait too long and find yourself with nothing.

"I'm not thinking about that yet. For the moment, I let my agent do what he has to do, then a choice will have to be made, of course. He is having discussions. I told him not to tell me anything during the period with the national team in order to keep my concentration."

This is the key part of your post above. Maresca has apparently impressed the players hugely in training with his knowledge, passion and ideas. I suspect quite a few who were eyeing the exit door have since changed their minds.

Just watched the highlights, looks like they missed albrighton a goal.

also noticed kristienson appears to be the first sub on again for Doyle, wonder why that’s been first swap last couple games!

Vardy also held his left thigh after a shot. Hope there’s nothing in that as he seemed to carry on.

It plays into the behind closed doors vibes, like a secret spy camera.

That's fair enough then. It was the only reason I could really think of as to why.

Rodgers fault..I was always on Praets side, especially when we had an off form player,on the 1-3 positions he could play..Just before his previous season's injury he started to find his niche and Rythm in the team..Rodgers openly made promises, and then said we miss him.. Then for some reason started more to ignore him, when other players were well off form..

If we had introduced earlier and given more game time to

Praet...Mendy...Soyuncu...Iversen, I strongly believe we would of saved ourselves easily, with sort of CPalaces

perfect timing..ending somewhere between 14-10th
