Looking at the way those who seem likely to leave are not involved at all (Barnes and Bouba) , I’d say that we will be trying to move on those into their final year if we can but not at all costs. And players like Castagne and praet will be kept if we don’t get the fee we want.

I think the message to ndid and kel’ agents is that they need to get those clubs interested to make proper offers or their clients will have to play in the championship this season and can go on a free next summer.  given that we should be able to take £20m min for those two, that’s  quite a gamble

Keeper sorted - Defence is sorted with those 8 - no need for anything else - long season - all will play - I can see Thomas leaving - midfield will depend on soumare and ndidi being shifted - if both go we need at least 1 more maybe 2 - out wide we have nothing - barnes will go if Newcastle can shift asm and castagne will as well if takers - means we need 2 attacking mids or wide men - then it’s kel or daka or both meaning 1 or 2 more there - looks like 6 more out and 5 in before September

Get the impression that Enzo likes Praet.

Tbh I thought he looked pretty handy against Northampton. His cross today was nice for Vardy’s goal and his goal sounded nice from that match report too.

Not according to this blah blah.

Even though Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet is frequently linked to a move to Italy, it now seems Turkey could be a destination for the 29-year-old as well.

A report from Ajansspor today claims that the player was, ‘for the second time’, offered to Trabzonspor.

It’s not made clear when the first suggestion arrived, but it’s assured that agents have repeatedly tried to move the Leicester City player to the Turkish side.

For now, there’s no decision from Trabzonspor on whether to sign Praet. The first reason why they’re not that excited about that possibility is that the midfield is not a priority for them in this transfer window.
Plus when receiving the suggestion, manager Nenad Bjelica promised to analyse the signing, and claimed he ‘wants to think about it’. No response from his was given so far.

According to Ajansspor, Leicester City and Enzo Maresca do not consider having Praet in their squad next season, and now work on his departure from the club.

With Italian clubs struggling to match the Foxes’ requests, perhaps the solution could come from the Turkish market.

Maresca singled out Praet for praise after the Northampton game and gave the impression that he really rates him.

Yeah, I don't think Maresca would be playing Praet in his first choice XI if he didn't rate him.

Praet pretty much typifies the Mezzala role that's so popular in Italy (attacking number 8 who plays in the half-spaces, acting like a pseudo-winger)

JJ won’t like being considered ‘second string’

He's been unfit for so long and not overly impressive upon return, he has to be considered second string until he can prove otherwise.

Justin has worked his bollocks off all summer to be fit in time for pre-seaskn, Souttar has come back to pre-season over a week early and both seen as 2nd string it would appear. Whilst Castagne and Praet openly want out and seemingly very much in Maresca's plans unless told otherwise.

Sometimes it takes more than effort and determination or a lack of to sway the manager otherwise!

It could be that both Praet and Castagne have a profile and style that suits the positions they play within  Maresca’s structure so until they piss off they at least mean that Enzo can set up and play the style he wants to implement. Unfortunately JJ is in direct competition with Riccy P and is also coming back from a serious injury so part of his rehab could include a staged return and reduced minutes.

When they’re on pomp, Castagne and Praet can show signs of technical ability. Timmy’s background with Atlanta might be ideal for Enzo, as he will get what he’s trying to do. For all Praet’s flaws, technically he isn’t actually a bad player, it’s his attitude that bothers me, I don’t think he wants it at all.

There’s still room for movement. Timmy will leave and I think Dennis will too, as they’re sellable assets.

JJ just needs to get his head down, he’s unlucky that Riccy is in his place, because he’s a better all round player, however… having said all of that, if Enzo is anything like Pep he will want to rotate the side around, and JJ has flexibility in his game. He’s a good enough player to take up a couple of different positions. The championship is relentless so it’s likely most of the players will be used.

Perhaps players mentioned are being played to put them in the shop window. The suggestion they are 1st 11 players can only help as well.

They’d need to have showed the game

That would actually explain why Ward is not being played.
