Andy King seems to be liked by every player thats been at the club while hes there. I imagine if King needs him then he’d make a comeback

This 100%.

On talent alone he should obviously be in the squad / team.

I'm all for selling bad apples but if we don't move him on, we have to manage him properly and get him playing.

If he went to any other club in the Championship he would improve their team - bellend or not.

Sensible clubs would have either negotiated his exit or have him nowhere near the first team, not even in training.

Under Pearson this clown would be gone as he valued good ethic from his players.

I'm all for selling bellends, but if we can't the manager's job is to get the most out of the talent in the squad.

Nigel Pearson moved players on but also excellently man-managed talented players who have had bad off-field reputations. eg Jamie Vardy, Danny Drinkwater, Danny Simpson, Ben Marshall, Anthony Knockaert.

Winks had a good work ethic the season we got promoted. A good manager could get that out of him again.

I’m a sucker for a redemption story but I can’t buy into this one. It would reinforce the impression that the club has no discipline or accountability, and would risk immediately diminishing any good will towards the new manager. Please let’s not.

Over time, Page will be a better prospect for us than the likes of Winks, but in order to develop quickly he needs lots of game time.  It is really a far better long term option for the club to integrate our young stars as quickly as is sensible, and to prioritise their development over accommodating the "difficult" experienced squad players.

Two people I've met down here over the last couple of years knew him from his Hemel days and said he's a really lovely bloke. If a new manager can get him committed to the cause for the next three months it has to be good for us

That may be the case but 3 manager's have gone off and he's been called out for his unprofessionalism by 2 of them. That's on top of very public displays of contempt for the fans.

Clean slate and all that but he clearly doesn't want to be here so would be sickening to see him come back into the squad

But 3 subsequent manager's haven't been able to? No matter how crap they were, the basic thing is that you at least commit to your ridiculously paid job. Winks couldn't even be arsed to do that. He doesn't want to be here so he is absolutely not the answer to our problems (which is a shame since he's much better than this level)

I may be wrong but I think Winks was basically ever‑present under Maresca and Cooper.

Clearly something happened under both RVN and Cifuentes. We don't know what, but we do know both Ruud and Marti were out of their depth and piss poor communicators / man managers.

He may have just challenged them on their standards - admittedly there’s no evidence for that, but also none for the other narratives built around him! eg I’ve never understood why he gets blamed for a woman holding an “Enzo I Miss You” sign in a bar the whole squad was in.

What we do know is he's a decent footballer.

SofaScore has Winks ranked as our 3rd, 6th and 7th‑best player across his three seasons. If he’s still here, I’d use him over lumps like Hamza or Soumare - otherwise it feels like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

People will disagree and that's fine, but for me everyone gets a clean slate under a new manager.

I was a big fan of Winks right up until the Sheff United game. However, him coming back into the side at any point is an example of exactly what is wrong with this club.

The man has stood there celebrating a Enzo I miss you board with a couple of dicks.

Sat in a garden while we were getting spanked and happy to have that posted on Instagram.

And now questions around his commitment to basic professional standards like training.

Let’s have some respect for the badge. He can’t even manoeuvre a move away despite being desperate to leave. The disrespect he has shown us, I’ve got no problem if we have someone from the under 15s in rather than him.

I don’t care if King makes him feel a million pounds. He’s been a disgrace post championship win.

For too often, playing for Leicester isn’t as important as it should be for so many of the players in recent years. And it needs to stop.

The best post I've ever seen

Maybe Winks was ahead of the game in spotting how utterly incompetent Cifuentes is, so resolved not to play that way and would be more on board with a decent manager. Or he's an utter bellend.
