Actually thought winks was OK yesterday. Was at least trying. Something just not clicking at the moment. All gone a bit stale.

There was a point in the game, where he passed out wide and then could have ran through the defence and been clean through. But he didn't

 

Like alot of the players he's seems to be lacking that bit of confidence

Today showed how important Ricardo and Ndidi are. Yes, we have a strong squad but take out two massive players and we will see the drop off. Laying off passes to Ricardo is a world away from  laying off passes to Choudhury.

Yep, it must be a confidence thing because you know Ricardo is trusted more with the ball compared to Hamza. Ricardo just seems to have that intelligence in him more so than others.

I don't think he's been held back by Enzo. It can be a confidence thing and to know when to go and when to stay  once he knows whats behind him are ok.

 

I'd be encouraging him to continue to get foward which will lead to more Goals even if the oppossition get in behind him at times.

Special shout out to Winks tonight for the embarrasing moment, when he went to go down holding his head, realised the ball had hit it not the boot he was anticipating and the ref wasn't giving him anything and just played on.

You expect to get those. It was a high foot whether he connected or not

It was more the fact he grabbed his head and then realises nothing had happened so just played on.

Don't mind it tbh. Must happen all the time that players hold their head without actually getting caught. Amazing the ref didn't give it. 

 

Once it wasn't given he did the right thing to get back and help the team.

I don’t actually know what he’s offering at the moment.

 

He’s not playing those quick balls forward to break the lines, defensively he offers very minimal protection and a big part of why we consistently concede (not as guilty as Faes for that but worth noting IMO).

He’s tries too hard, and when we’re playing like a bag of shit, it really doesn’t suit his game well as he relies on others to keep the ball moving.

The lack of dynamism is why he wasn't picked up by a PL team in the Summer - And why a lot on here were a bit underwhelmed by the signing.

 

Good player, but a bit limited. Wonder what the promotion bonus is on his salary, knowing us it will be decent!
