The sarcastic cheering and booing towards him by some fans was disappointing. It's no way to treat an academy player in his first full season as a number one keeper at this level. To my mind, the discontent was aimed at the wrong target today.

A majority on that pitch in a Leicester shirt deserved that treatment as well as him. He flapped numerous times at crosses. He’s a liability a lot of games this season. So are most the other highly paid piles.

It's also understandable given how far our standards have fallen in a very short space of time.

I'm not at all convinced he's good enough to be first choice.

as I pointed out further back in the thread, the last 4 games hes made at least 1 mistake that has lead to a goal

so you can sort of understand it in a way

but as you said its more at the general team more than anything id say

Find it absolutely bizarre that the fanbase are turning on a young goalkeeper going through a confidence crisis, while previously being mostly reliable, instead of the board, the manager and many of the other frauds destroying this football club from the inside. If anyone deserves a bit of extra support from us, then it’s Jakub, even if he needs a little time out.

Because we have some terrible fans.

Was very disappointed to hear the booing and then ironic applause. He’s made a catalogue errors this season there’s no hiding from that. But it’s his first season as first choice and still learning his trade. He’s a great shot stopper but with a really weak defence there’s only so much you can expect from him.

Unfortunately for him he’s in the poisoned chalice of when he makes an error it’s more times than not going to lead to a goal.

My biggest criticism of him is that as good as a shot stopper he is, there are a lot of balls he should be holding onto rather than spilling or parrying them. I think he’s made a few saves that have turned directly or indirectly into a goal because of this.

Certainly not the worst of the problems we currently have, though.

Basically throwing the ball in the back of net most games is a pretty big problem  to be fair , needs to be dropped.

No where near a reliable first team player, like a lot of them, but you can’t play in goal if you let as many mistakes in as him.

Silly to be booing him though

I don’t know about this ‘drop him to take him out the firing line for a bit’.

Goalkeeper is a different beast. It’s much easier to do this with an attacking player or you know, central midfield, even a full back. The type of position that get regular in game changes so you can put the player on the bench and still give him minutes, rather than remove him fully.

With a goalkeeper, if you take him out now, given this seems like a crisis of confidence given he has shown talent, probably finishes him off.

For me, it’s a question of whether we see a future for him at all. If we remove him now, he has to be sold. Otherwise, coach him, improve him and let him work through this.

As others have said, whether in the stands or on here, it’s disappointing to see fans turning on a player in his first proper season, rather than where the anger should be directed.

We should give our backing to the young players like Stolarcryk and Nelson as at least they represent assets for the club. Returning to Begovic is even more short term thinking for a non-guaranteed improvement.

Needs taking out for a few games tbh. In terrible form.

Really!? Don't you know he's statistically the best keeper in the league.

Your eyes are deceiving you mate (tongue firmly in cheek - there are some right numpties on this board)

But look who he is playing behind.

Not much any defender can do when the goalkeeper is missing the ball from crosses and passing straight to opposition (Ipswich) players. His mistakes are his fault.

The defender could at least try and stop the cross?

He’s a perfectly average keeper being asked to perform above his ability to mask the chaos in front of him.

He faces an ungodly amount of crosses and shots because of the inability of this side to press the opponent or cut out crosses.

He’s a considerable downgrade on Mads but most likely he’s the best we can get at the minute on our budget of £0

Spot on.

Clearly not coached correctly either

The best technical keeper we've had is Madds, the rest have had significant flaws.

Madds' confidence has just been shot to pieces with the bubble twonks

Agreed. Also when he puts the ball in I think they have about 3 players on our 1. Still, the goalkeeper is nowhere near the ball when it does come in.

We ****ed this up. He shouldn't be starting for us.

Two opportunities, one last year in the PL and the year before where Stolarczyk could have gone out on loan and played 46 games. He's  inexperienced, and he's ****ing 25 years old.

Before, half a season in League Two... I'm sorry but he doesn't pass the eye test and his parry's of shit shots into the most dangerous area is embarrassing. That, and his kicking won't be trained out of him, it's too late.

Same old shit as sticking with Ward after losing Kasper which absolutely relegated us. A Rudkin masterclass masked by 'no money'. Despite bringing in two ****ing goalkeepers.

He’s been on loan a few times.

It is why I had sympathy for Hermansen when he declined last season. Our keepers are overworked and asked to do too much.

He is making errors but let's not forget Begovic conceded six in his last two games. The defence has to do more.

Thing is if you take away the section and l1 maybe p block corner, then fans offer sweet **** all apart from a little clap.. it don’t matter to many of them what league Leicester are in, providing there is 11 in blue on the field.. what’s disappointing is that fans are aiming it at the wrong people as said above.. where is the rudkin/king power out chants because if the 2 vocal sections of the ground can’t offer it then there is no hope

our fan base seems to love tearing down academy players for some reason - look at the hate Chilwell and Barnes got while playing for us
