There's a lot more Fatawu can add to his game, and that is the terrifying thing! When he's the finished article, him cutting onto his left foot will be hitting the back of the net consistently. I don't think there was much wrong for the pass he made for Ndidi, who should have hit that with his left foot.  

 

Mavididi had a good game today with two goals, winning the penalty for himself. But you can see his ceiling already and for him it's more about consistency. With Fatawu under the right coach, he joins Mahrez and Barnes as a winger who leaves for a large sum of money. And I expect it to be more like the Mahrez fee than the Barnes one, because he's got way more in his locker than Harvey did.

 

I also don't expect him to get found out in the Premier League because he's fast, strong and skilful. His decision-making could be better, but it's not terminal like Adama Traore or Demarai Gray.

 

More than anything he comes across as a really likable lad too. He put in a great challenge in our box to stop a shot, and worked hard all game long. Mavididi comes across as the stroppy one, Fatawu has more "your lovable younger brother who just happens to be brilliant at football" vibes.

 

 

I agree with everything you said except regarding Mavididi. For me he is our most underrated player, his footwork for his second goal was outstanding, the way he made space for himself with his touches was almost Mahrez-esque. Yes he is 25 but I don't think his ceiling as a player has been determined yet, I think there is a good chance he will be a much better player at the end of this season than he was at the start of it and even compared to how he is now.

Just posting some comparisons between Fatawu and Mavididi. Both are doing well for us, and both had great games for us on the weekend.

Fatawu has some absurd stats for a teenager, he's going to be a special player.

The only thing Fatawu isn't great at there is getting into goalscoring positions - which he seems to have started doing now

Really hope the rumours are true about Fatawu's contract having an obligation/option to buy for £18m.

 

We should be activating that in January. The lads mustard. Best right winger we've had since Riyad left. I know that's not saying an awful lot but he's frightening. Can see him being our next massive sale.

 

Hopefully in the second half of the season he can get his numbers up in terms of goals and assists. Two goals and three assists doesn't do himself justice.

He's not the finished article by any means and I can see him frustrating fans at times but I reckon he'll make the step up to the premier league fairly well. Got to sign him up

No, it’s essentially agreeing the sale in advance. These deals are always in favour of the buying club.

 

Essentially it happens when a club is really trying to sell and takes what they can get at the time… its very odd with fatawu but i guess the selling club lost hope. 

 

Basically they would have been happy to sell for €17m but this way they also get the loan fee… which on a player with those numbers… you’d imagine was 2/3m on its own. but either way £16/17m is top business


Yunus has a clause that if he plays a certain ammount of games it’s automatically triggered

No. Options and obligations sit with the buying club only. i.e us

I expect he will be named in their initial squad, but it will definitely be interesting to see if he gets into their actual tournament squad

 

His November call up was only due to a player dropping out, otherwise he hasn’t actually played for them or really been involved since the World Cup

 

Ghana do already have a pretty good amount of wingers even without Fatawu

Bring back big Nige as the club's "International duty FA liason officer" to make sure there aren't any countries brave enough to question it.

This guy is absolutely incredible! Riyad Mahrez won the Premier League with Leicester age 24. Abdul Fatwu is 19...

 

Who remembers Mahrez's debut season? Immediately showed exciting flashes in a team that was going up. But still not the finished article.

 

When he became the finished article... well I forget what happened. I assume we had a decent season? :ph34r:
