Time to let Nigel go?

I clicked on the pre-match press conference hoping for my love to have waned only to witness:

 

• Microphone that you wouldn't dare to bring out on your own in the dark let alone on an official occasion being shoved in Nigel's face. 
• Background that looks like it's been knocked up quickly by the local infant school
• Being interviewed by someone in a lumberjack shirt from an awkward angle who's obviously invading Nige's space that Nige seems to take particular displeasure for. 
• Arthritic/African warlord bracelet on manly god-like right arm
• Watch halfway down the forearm on the other manly god-like arm
• Extremely salty difficult answer response for the first stupid question after 1 min about away from.

 

The only thing missing was a pair of ice white's in shot. What a man, I can't describe how much I love him.

 

Jokes a part this is really good conference where he delves into quite a bit of his thoughts about us and building up clubs. You can see we are so important to him still and evokes so many emotions in him.

Bristol City were my Championship side when we were in the Premier League. Purely because of Nigel 

 

I want us to beat them, or course, but it will almost feel a bit rude and disrespectful.

Not sure why anyone can have anything but love for Nige. I don't think we'll ever let go. For me, O'Neill, Pearson and Ranieri are the only managers who we should never let go of because of the success and connection we had with them. We had success with Rodgers with our first fa Cup (which Will never be forgotten) plus the 2 top 5 finishes (should have been top 4) but for me, Rodgers has completely destroyed his reputation after last season. I could have accepted relegation if he'd genuinely given his all, but he clearly gave up and it almost became sabotage because he didn't want to be here. Nige would have died for this club. Rodgers was always about his own brand and reputation. Whilst Pearson technically didn't win any major honours, I still rank him above Rodgers

I wish one day the likes of Kasper and King can come back as club ambassadors alongside Vardy, Morgan and Albrighton.

 

As Pearson said above, it is the value and the culture that will be the backbone for success.

 

This is the reason why it was the right thing for the club to keep Vardy and Albrighton, whether or not they play sh*t, to keep what is more important that has been developed since the Pearson days - the culture, the “we”, the foxes never say die attitude. Some fans here were too quick to kill all of that and ask for a complete turnover. But even managers come and go as we all know. Enzo included. But we created something very special leading to the 5000-1 league win. This is invaluable that we must keep. Please remember.

 

And for those who are less sentimental, it is not about that. It is also about building success based on values. Apart from the training ground, I reckon the likes of Winks and Coady were willing to join us in the Championship because of our reputation (from winning the league and being a top side not long ago). So it really matters that we can keep traces of that (eg. Vardy) in the team for as long as possible. We want new players to come in feeling a sense of pride to be here, part of a family that want to take the club to another miracle. Let’s all face it, many deep down want to be a superhero one day. Leicester, I hope, gives the likes of Winks, Coady, Mavididi etc a sense of belief that one day they may be able to take Leicester back up to the EPL and achieve great things, because we have done it all here before and we can have Vardy and Albrighton to talk about all that.

Enzo too, he apparently was Southampton's first choice, but he rejected them in May before we approached him..

I’m on my honeymoon and the one game I didn’t want to miss was this one. Shock I’m missing it and it was too late to cancel the honeymoon. So jealous of those who will be there. Ranieri got a decent reception, imagine how good this one will be!!! Good luck all those going, try and keep the emotions in check if you can…

All seriousness, it was a fixture that I looked for at the beginning of the season. My hope is that we can convince Rennie (kidnap) to come back.

 

Time to let Nige go? For me, nope. He started the foundation for our recent success. Without Nige, we'd be a mediocre Championship side....or worse!

I think Nigel cuts such messianic figure for many of us as it was him that effectively built the Premier League winning team

 

That's not to say we would have won it with him as the The Don still deserves huge credit but Nigel for many is the one

Nigel was the catalyst with nearly all of it down to him. Hopefully we are now back on that journey with Enzo.

I simply love this man. I don't know what else I can say that hasn't already been said but the guy is one of the biggest legends of the clubs. It still baffles me that there's Leicester fans that don't like him.

It’s hard to love Nige anymore than most of us already do but the weirdos who hate him (and they proper do for some bizarre unknown reason) makes me love him even more.

 

On those people who don’t like him I’m yet to find one of them actually explain their dislike for him.

He was a part of our history, however sport doesn’t really have time for sentiment on the day.
