Fatawu would do some damage

Great shout. This guy can beat a player or two, type of player needed in a game like this.. might just open up another chance for us

Sounds like we're very much riding our luck and not taking care of the ball.

That being said we are playing against a Liverpool side containing Elliot Jota Gakpo Konate etc, I expected to be 2 down at least.

Mcateer continues to impress... just seems to know exactly where he needs to be, intelligent runs

Souttar seems a bit off the pace, as does Cesare again unfortunately.. Kelechi, well... just give Daka a run out if we can afford the apparent 5m.

You have to allow for that, he hasn't played a game this season

Just once, I'd like us to get preferential treatment from a ref at home. Home or Away, whoever we're playing seems to get the better decisions.

Considering the number of chances we've given pretty poor opposition this season I thought Liverpool would open us up, mainly a second string Liverpool tonight but still have more quality than Championship squads, they've wasted many chances this game, but overall I've been thoroughly impressed by our performance in the first half, a bit rough around the edges but we've been relatively comfortable.

This commentator on my stream is a right bell. Couldn't make it more subtle he's waiting for Liverpool to score

We all are aren't we? :D

Us in blue hope they don't but it feels inevitable haha

And it works sometimes! Mcateer has broken through a few times but collectively we have got in behind a couple of times. It's the risk we take as well as the risks Liverpool take with that high line.

If Yunus had a bit more pace and we were a bit more clinical I think we'd have more opportunities.

Definitely one of the stronger sides I've seen Liverpool put out in the cups. There's a lot of talent in that team.

I really hope we can hold onto this. If it gets to 70 minutes and we're still leading I'm going to be so nervous haha.

So if you're gonna screw us Liverpool/ref/both, then do it early!

To be fair to the people saying it's suicidal, they more than have a point. But you can only improve at the style by doing it. If we have ambitions to be competing in Europe, then we have to be great on the ball. This is really encouraging to see.

Subs at 60 or half time do we think?

Try and get through to 60

Then bring on Daka, Mavididi, and Fatawu and start pinging balls long

Just had a text from Liverpool supporting mate. He, being someone who considered us a lucky PL winner and generally quite derogatory when speaking about us, said: You’re probably already a PL team. Tactically well advanced of many we’ve played this year. Good team.

That’s enough for me. Thank you and goodnight.

I assume he is one of the one who wanted out :dunno:

Hopefully this is the start of a way back in.

I find that hard to believe. So much so he came back over a week early to pre-season, a player who wanted out would unlikely do that. He was the 1st day to try and impress Enzo.

Souttar has had a really solid half, I'd say

OK, on talksport2 sounds like he's struggled. Not got a stream today

I'm hoping he gives Enzo something to think about as he's probably back in the fold now with Doyle out..

Ref sounds awful, about right?

I’m not Hamza’s biggest fan but how the **** did he get a yellow for that tackle clearly won  the ball

Because it’s Scamfield.

Can we talk about that goal line clearance by Coady please? He read that so quickly and peeled off to make the block. Quality defending!
