I think today highlights that we definitely need at least one more decent option at number 8, very weak without wilf and kdh.. for me yunus and casadei don't do the job. Not a clue who.

Forward wise we are OK, we're scoring plenty of goals from all over the pitch anyway , and combined the number 9s have 15 between them with only one being on the pitch at any given time, decent return. That being said, getting iheanacho out the door would be ideal. Lacklustre play and attitude lately isn't what's needed around the club.

Other than that, we're covered until the summer for me

I think we need another CB and a LB, so if the option is there bring them in. We need another midfielder and a striker aswell. If we could get rid of Nacho and Praet that would free up wages.

After Nacho came on last night he offered nothing compared to Daka, Villa are sniffing around for Nacho, I would let him go and bring him in someone who wants to play or at least shows interest

I don’t see us buying a striker in January (at least not on a permanent deal) - fees always inflated and I don’t imagine there is enough in the transfer kitty.

I could see us bringing another 8 though, especially with Wilf likely to be missing for most Jan with AFCON. There was a noticeable drop off when we subbed KDH and Wilf yesterday.

Personally feel the last place we need to strengthen is CB. We have Vestergaard, Faes, Coady, Soutter, Nelson, Doyle and at a push Justin and Choudhery who can play there. I like 3 signings, a LB, creative number 8 and maybe a left sided player who can push Mavadidi for his place. I'd keep Praet as, when fit, can play on the left and right as an 8, but happy for Nacho, Ward, Iverson to leave and let Casadei go back to Chelsea. The AFCON throws transfers into doubt somewhat, as if Daka was still here, I'd also let Cannon go out on loan.

A cheeky bid for Sammy Szmodics! Would fit the system and score plenty.

Signed a new contract last month, so I can't see this happening unfortunately.

There's surely no way in hell we bring in a striker in January. We have 4 on the books, the only one that would fetch any kind of halfway decent fee in order to buy in a decent striker is Daka, and he'd only fetch a decent fee now because he's starting games and scoring goals, which means he's not the one you're going to let go.

If Kel goes we still have 3 left, and one position to play for. Even if Kel left and Vardy retired early I still think it'd be down on the list of priorities. Man City, who we're so often compared to have 2. Haaland and Alvarez. We don't need any more. Goalscoring wingers or box to box midfielders with a bit of attacking threat'll do. A Wilf replacement is probably the one to look at. Competition if he stays, replacement if he (ultimately) doesn't.

And a speedy CB? Again, it's still early but Enzo needs to decide with the player if there's succession planning to be done with Vesty.

Exactly this. We can't keep 4 forwards happy. Kels given up, so get rid of him.. even on a free and use his wages to subsidise an 8 in on loan. (Not sure whose available, but that'd be the idea) rather than wasting a squad place on a forward, utilise it elsewhere.

Unless Souttar goes, a cb isn't coming in, we can cover it. Wouldn't mind cover for Winks, Injury away from losing that quality link up.

I hope we don't go wild and unless someone's available that we are certain will make the grade in the premier league and is happy for 6 months in the championship, I'd rather us make no permanent signings and stick to loans.

We've already got a hatful of players on their final year, and/or aren't of premier league quality as it is, we don't need any more to clear out in the summer.

Wouldn't be against Yunus being released from his loan, don't see what he does. Not a big fan of Casadei, but if he's on the pitch with wilf or kdh he does a job at least.

For me, out kelechi and then maybe souts and yunus.

In, an 8, and then a 6 and a cb if all 3 go

I don't understand the call for an additional centre back in January. What we have is more than adequate for the rest of this campaign. I agree, it may be required in the Summer, hopefully when we are promoted as we do lack pace which will be exposed in the Premier League.

Hope we get any January transfer business done early (if possible) so we are somewhat covered for AFCON. Perhaps Praet's non inclusion yesterday could be to do with Torino's interest again (unless others know different)?

midfield option

Be amazed if this wasn't already done.

Maybe get the NYD game out the way then done.

Wouldn't mind seeing us go in for Hanibal Mejbri, he's clearly got a lot of talent but given where united are this season he's struggling for game time in the league, he has made 10 appearances this season in all comps and has been quite a decent player for them, but I can't see him getting much game time now. Birmingham fans loved him and he's got a bit of bite as well as being very solid on the ball, he's very versatile too. Still only 20, United are likely to spend in January/summer so will fall down the pecking order even further.

Loan with view to buy in summer could be a good little signing, especially with Ndidi going to Afcon.

Edit: Also think Mainoo looks a real talent but I can see United really wanting to hold out on him, he's a future captain either there or somewhere else in a few seasons, can't see us getting him on loan.

Wouldn't be against this. Shown he's capable against a higher level than the championship and like you say  versatile so would be an ideal option to cover a few roles. Looks decent enough to me... would be sh1tt1ng myself about possible reds if he and hamza are on the field together though

Let's get some cover for AFCON bound Ndidi by bringing in someone also likely to be involved 😂
