Definitely think it’s time to give the chimpanzees a go at running Earth. Humans clearly ****ed up our opportunity.

We did. One’s being prosecuted for paying off a sex worker, one is trying to annex Ukraine, one is now writing for the Mail while visiting Venezuela, and one was a lettuce.

I think it’s time we put some competent humans back in charge.

The attack on Rafah is truly abhorrent. Fvck. There’s probably no hope for us as a species.

nervous to post anything on this situation but ……..

Can’t see how it’s any more abhorrent than what we’ve seen in the region since Oct 6th.

when you’re dropping precision guided weapons (even with small warheads), you can’t account for unexpected consequences (as we’ve recently seen).  However,  If you don’t carry out the strike then there can’t be an unexpected consequence. there is much on both sides which is deplorable.  Discussing it will go around in circles -  we have a heinous terror organisation who seem to care little about their people in one corner and a democratically elected govt in the other who appear to be mainly motivated as much by political survival as anything else.   Or a group of freedom fighters and a facist administration made up of murderous ethnic cleansers committing a genocide.  Or perhaps both are merely puppets of ‘the great satan usa’ and Iran who are acting together with Russian/ China interests.

this is why we have tended to discuss the macro political situation in the region rather than the micro events.  people are generally informed by whatever news channel (or heaven forbid social media) that they view.  The micro events are usually too horrendous to discuss without becoming too emotional and sometimes based on shifting sands. (Eg Al ahli hospital)

as a species, we’ve been fooked for a long time ………. Bad apples and all that ……. sad because the vast majority of people are very decent and if we all pulled together then there is so much we could achieve.

It’s very difficult to discuss the situation without emotion now. I’m like you in that I’m nervous to post (despite having a lot to say). I disagree with some things you’ve said in the above post BUT agree with the sentiment in general.

It’s a horrendous situation, out of control. Haniyeh and Nethanyahu need to face the gallows and their cronies need to follow swiftly behind them. Neither regime is doing any good for their people on their cause.

Unfortunate as sure an announcement could have been made but would you not let the airline know before the dangers to your daughter health and maybe check it’s safe to travel  ?

The family could have handled that much better.

You can’t just turn up to a flight and make the announcement there and then for no peanuts to be consumed… and I understand the airlines position on this… what if that’s the only snack people brought with them?  How could the air.ine enforces this. Search the personal belongings of every passenger on the plane? Confiscate peanuts? What would have happened if the airline had made that announcement  and then a passenger eats peanuts and the kid goes anaphylactic? They would have sued the airline, that’s what.

Give the airline plenty of warning, the airline can  warn all passengers ahead of time, further instructions could have been given at the gate and everyone could have  had a safe trouble free flight.

Well, I now know more about flying with a nut allergy than I did previously. https://www.alternativeairlines.com/flying-with-nut-allergy

The parents were dicks to not sort it prior.

A quick read of the article and this like pops up from the presenter:

'Allow your passengers the choice to know whether it is safe to fly with you.'

So she expects to turn up to the flight, announce there's an allergy, and then pretty much make them (the choice element is swiftly diminished) leave the flight or not have their snacks on the flight?

It did seem safe right up until the point she started asking every other passenger not to have nuts.

Sounds like she could have done more to speak to them prior to the flight and warn them of the allergy?

I think we ought to acknowledge the unspoken role being played by the deep state here.

Suspect lots of their peers will be making very public appearances on social media today to avoid being implicated by the "citizen journalists".

This was leaked either last week or two weeks ago

the name hasn’t come out since then so I doubt it will now

I did see one social media post referencing someone I’d never heard of

No chance he goes to prison.

All ex-presidents are entitled to lifelong protection from the secret service. Could get a little bit cramped in Trump’s cell.

Could get a bit messy

Apparently a communist ran for President from a prison cell a hundred years ago - so it wouldn’t be unprecedented

Seeing the American’s react on Sky News, I unfortunately agree. It’s going to be too close for comfort.
