Made a couple of good tackles but come on?

Captain of the team.

FFS.

He went over for a throw in near L1 1st half and was waving to a ball boy for a ball....the ball boy just ignored him🤣🤣🤣🤣

Imagine this under Morgan, Vardy or Schmeichel!!

I’d generally have Jordan James as the captain. I dont care if hes on loan, hes the one who sets the standard every game he plays. Lascelles if he ever stays fit

Wouldn’t be my captain but he showed last night what he can bring to the team, he is aggressive, quick and plays with intensity, yes he is limited on the ball and capable of brain farts but I did feel he had a positive impact on the game, and gives us qualities that Riccy can no longer bring. Happy to have him as a rotation option for the rest of the season and next season as back up to Aluko.

Unpopular opinion. I don’t like him, shouldn’t be captain, know he is moments away from  a red card and long term we should be considering better options. But yesterday he was better than Ricardo has been all season. And Riccy felt like a downgrade when he came in.

I thought the same. Says a lot about where Ricardo is currently at when you feel more assured by Hamza. He did well.

This just says more about the fact Ricardo is absolutely finished as a full back and I say that given he's been one of my favourite players though his time here.

I'd still back him to do a better job than Reid in attacking midfield, frankly, but he's not got the legs to cover at full back anymore.

Riccy P is also not captain material from what i've heard from him.

Picks up the worst full back award from Thomas this week- I thought that was near on impossible - utter disgrace he is anywhere near the 11 and being captain I have no words for

Actually made a couple of important decent challenges and tackles last night.  However, he is always a red card waiting to happen.  Makes rash stupid decisions and like most of our full backs, gets caught out of position regularly.  Glad he got hooked 2nd half, as he was on a yellow.

How many times has he actually been sent off in his career? And people have been saying he's a red card waiting to happen for years

But who would you have as captain specifically?

I think he's passable as a 70th minute sub in central midfield. He's not a right back, not a leader and (barring a crisis) shouldn't be starting.

I know somebody who has had dealings with him and says he's an absolute bellend in real life. That doesn't prohibit him being a good footballer, of course. But if he's shit as well if doesn't help his cause :D

Met him a few times through work (he does some charity stuff)and i found it incredible how quiet he was.Nothing like he seems on the pitch, not the brightest, which is similar to being on the pitch i suppose

Hamza has in 285 games 3 red cards and 50 odd yellows. Not the reckless player we all think but he's still a poor player.

Yet, significantly better than Ricardo?

We dont have great options. Its either the OAP, the kid or Hamza. Choose your poison. But at least when Hamza is on it (and he has lots of days when hes all over the place) he has some physicality. I hate saying it, but he starts over Riccy and you rotate with Aluko. Riccy offers nothing right now.

Not sure that's an unpopular opinion tbh.

How's he's still at the club given the journey we've had I've no idea

I agree. Riccy is past it and makes far to many mistakes. Aluko cannot be good enough or he would have been given greater opportunities. Hamza tackles hard but his awareness is non existent. Tricky decision.

To be fair to hamza he went to a far better Sheffield united side than us last season and received very high praise for his time there.

he is absolutely capable but for whatever reason he’s just never been able to do it consistently for us. Would be a good time for him to have a good run for us

Mad that he's the same player who had the loan stint at Sheffield United last season. I watched him most weeks there and he was one of their most dependable players across that second half of the season. Good on the ball and defensively solid. What version do we have here?
