Correct, and that's why we need the mooted regulatory body from outside of the corrupt football authorities that are currently overseeing all the wrongdoings.

Football really is hard to like at present. Such greed involved which breeds corruption.

Yep the UK has such a good reputation of independent regulators!  Ofwat comes to mind, and don't forget the toothless IPSO, which keeps the newspapers in check.  Any regulator where blood-sucking politicians can get involved needs to be well avoided.

A first step has to be an independent regulator if the fans aren’t to lose the game completely.

Effective regulation is another step entirely, but we have to start somewhere

They seem to be moaning now that what has tipped them over the edge to this breach is because the PL have changed the rules on infrastructure being excluded from FFP. That the interest payments on loans borrowed on building their new stadium accounts for the breach.

Pure whiff

Complaining about being caught being corrupt while actively enabling corruption.

Everton no long have a single leg to stand on.

(the legs have been nicked and replaced with bricks at this point)

wtf are sheffield doing there

A quick Google:

Sheffield United’s club owner Prince Abdullah is a former general president of Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority. He has also built his wealth through his various business interests including a clutch of sports teams. The Saudi prince also founded the paper manufacturing company, the SPMC Group.

Prince Abdullah’s sporting interests beyond Sheffield United include being an owner of the Belgian football club, Beerschot Wilrijk. His company, UTB LLC, secured a 50% stake in the team in July 2018 before increasing its stake to 75% in January 2020. His interests also continue in France and the UAE.

Prince Abdullah announced in February 2020 that he was also an owner of the Dubai-based team, Al Hilal United FC. While the Saudi prince also completed a takeover of French outfit LB Chateauroux in March 2021. It followed his purchase of a newly-formed Indian team, Kerala United, in October 2020.

I'm surprised we weren't in the 7 tbh. Clearly don't rate out own link with Leuven lol

We’d need to be in the Premier bloody league first! lol:ph34r:

Did I hear right that some Liverpool MP had tables a motion to discuss this in parliament this morning as he felt it was excessive?

If anything, they’ve got off lightly.

Manchester City could be in real trouble down the line.

Given that their fans already seem to think we’re a bunch of right-wing ultra capitalists, suing them for £100m would certainly bring an added frisson when we next play them in December and some of our fans decide to treat them to a light-hearted festive rendition of ‘Feed the scousers’…

Bigger surprise with Brighton given their strong links with Union SG and how well they’ve maintained it too

Shouldn’t you be punished for cheating during the season that you cheated? If they were deducted 10 points last season, they would have been relegated. Just look at the table from end of last season. Period.

The timing of this means they could be off the hook.

Agreed. It's looking like something on the scale of Titles stripped and relegation. It's that bad for them.

This entire club allowing transfer thing is going to open up a new can of worms.

Al-LodaWonga can go and sign Mbappe,  Osimhem, Valverde, Ter Stegen, Alaba, Neves, Musiala, Martinez, Leão, Wirtz, Barella, Marquinhos at market Value, then loan them all to Newcastle! Pointless!

Unfortunately football is in the moment, so you’ll never take the moments of joy away that you get as fans.

In one way, if FFP was scrapped and clubs could do what they wanted, at least everyone is playing by the same rules. We would have had the option to throw more money around rather than trying to comply with FFP, whilst others cheated.

I understand there's a difference because of the nature of the sport and the social impact but blindly supporting corruption isn't fair and good imo.

There’s only one way to stop it.

May I introduce you to non-league.

Please tell me I’m missing the irony winky wink going on here?

A regulator won’t achieve anything. Fans voting with their wallets would.

The Premier league rules on this are a little bizarre, tight restrictions on domestic loans but no restrictions on foreign loans:

- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

the EFl rules are this

A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a Team Sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a Player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan;

No Club may sign more than 4 Players on a Temporary Loan Transfer from another Club (or club) in any Season, of which no more than 2 Players may be over the age of 23. The deadline for determining a Player's age in this respect shall be as at the 30 June prior to the Season in which the Temporary Loan Transfer is intended to take place.

I think it’s fair to say there’s not a lot of remorse coming out of Goodison.

As there wouldn't be with any club. It keeps being levelled against their fans that they're not being very forthcoming about the news, as if we or any other fanbase would be different? Don't understand why anyone is surprised by this.

Read this thread, our fans are getting into a frothing rage because they think we're the victims here. Imagine the level of barnyard ranting if it had happened to us!!

I keep seeing people on X quoting over and over, 'they've picked on the wrong club'. All sounding a bit sinister. Not sure what they mean. Perhaps because they see themselves as good at protesting, singing songs and waving banners.

:dunno:
