Just look at Vesty. its not so much on him, who knows what happens if that broken foot never happens but we could have probably spent that money elsewhere in hindsight and simply used Souttar more for the games Coady has played 2

Just makes me laugh. Continue to wallow
ARTY_FOX Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 Nothing like adding 2 and 2 together and making 5 1

They’re just better players than Coady in this moment. 2

Reg Vardy Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 Not lost a game when he has started, what’s wrong with people?

GingerrrFox Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 To be fair to the club. Vestergaard looked like he was out the exit door and we had no one to play the middle CB role. Coady gets injured just before the season starts and Jannik has a change of heart. Sometimes these things happen.
lcfc sheff Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 He’s not been impressive at all when played that’s for sure
Tielemans63 Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 He's been okay when he's played. The others have just been better, and he couldn't displace Vesty or Wout after he recovered from his initial injury. Is there anymore to it than that?

Not that easy.
when_you're_smiling Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 Think he was brought in for being a leader in the dressing room as much as anything this season. Also, if we go up, it wouldn’t surprise me if we see him more in a back five next season. 1
Itsthejoeker Posted 3 February 2024 Posted 3 February 2024 If he hadn’t got injured at the start of the season Vesty might not have become the starting central CB and kept Coady out the team. as others have said Vesty was actively being shifted to other clubs meaning we needed an additional CB. but I guess it’s on trend to whine about ****ing everything these days 2

Not that easy. that's where clubs networking come in, Souttar for example was at one stage linked with a move to Saudi, but we've overpaid in fees and wages for too long and its bit us in the arse as we struggle to shift players which is why deals like Coady need to be successes, I'm not actually blaming the club for this one, but it is looking like bad business Edited 3 February 2024 by Jimmy

Part of the reason why I've said we should use Coady more is I want this deal to work because it needs to. If Vesty is out for any length of time and Coady isn't picked you can't really deny how bad this deal has turned out to be

For all we know, having Coady as a mentor may have pushed Nelson’s game onto another level too.
