The Bournemouth away game? He scored twice. He's a very versatile midfielder.

That was the one yeah, took both goals really well.

Hopefully these lads can stick around rather than just been wheeled out in games with ne jeopardy.

I thought he did quite well under rough circumstances.  Not only in terms of positioning, but also being surprisingly vocal for a kid in his first appearance.

Fact Maresca picked him says a lot, never heard of him until today.

You need to pay attention to Ric more.

Did Enzo indicate why he took him off at half time, personally I felt it should have been Hamza and I would have liked to have seen Cover given opportunity to play the Winks role.

I think we just wanted more experienced players on.

Enzo doesn't need to explain why. I could only presume that it was decided (either pre agreed or during the match) that a more experienced head was needed in the inverted role in the 2nd half. The fact that Cover,  for 45 mins in that role made a good account of himself is something he should hold his head high about.  Its a very difficult role to play, and the danger for the kid is that the wheels fall of quickly. I hope we see more of him.

As for Hamza, I agree. But you can't expect an academy kid to play 2 roles in one match. He would have trained for the inverted role in the week.

Looked very tidy and not out of place at the level. Hadn't been aware of him prior to game but looked a good prospect. Hopefully continues to develop and get more opportunities. Rare bright spark in that poor first half.

As with KDH (&Nelson) he needs loan spells in lower leagues to improve. If not for remainder of season, hopefully 2024/5.Perhaps stating the obvious, It's great when local lads get the chance to be challenging for a first team place.

I thought the lad stood up tall and played a bloody good game made a mistake but overcame that played well & gave a great display FairPlay to the lad !

This.

It was his debut and a big step up from development football and he did well. Not only that the rest of the team were rancid and he still looked good.

I imagine it was decided before the game that he would play 45 in order to rest Ricardo for 45, rather than being an indictment on his performance.

I don’t mean in talent or ability but he reminds me of Trent AA in his style. Saw people saying that pass to Vardy was a channel ball but if you watch it carefully he just whips it and it’s a meant pass. If he can stay grounded and work hard he could get games for us because he’s versatile and young enough to learn off Ricardo.
