It makes no difference who owns the club. It could be the Saudi state. We'd still be fooked by FFP because its a sack of shitThe Issue is Leicester City have a turnover ceiling, we are only allowed to make certain losses in that period. Even if King Power chucked in 600milliom wed still be screwed under FPP, it makes now difference.

We need to increase revenue/turnover. The only real way to do that is regular european football, non football income and the stadium expansion plan. King Power have plans in place for all of that. I dont think they counted on relegation by Rodgers however.

That depends on how much they pay us for stadium naming rights and sponsorships... Is it a fair market value? (I genuinely don't know this,) could it be higher to increase our revenue?

Just to be clear FFP and the club being well ran are two entirely separate things.

As far as I am aware we are the only club that may have broken FFP rules in order to secure relegation.

The club can still be well ran, it isn't, but it could be.

Making sure you comply with rules is an example of how you are being run.

They knew how much they were spending, and if they genuinely thought they would always be able to get by selling a Maguire a season then they are beyond clueless.

One thing about the club that should get more attention is the general decency within it.

Remember the club stuck by its employees during lockdown, they didn't do a Liverpool, Spurs or other big clubs by swiftly removing staff. And again, after relegation, Tanner said an email went out to employees saying their jobs were safe.

That said, I think there is too much naivety, we could benefit from a ruthless operator and 'we're gonna be OK' vibes rather than acting to make sure we are OK. Sticking with Rodgers is the chief example of this, perhaps Rudkin as well.

It's easy to say, but then how does that impact the culture of the club?

King Power's culture, background and actions in Leicester is about doing good personified by Vichai. And without that, and the atmosphere that created with the players, we wouldn't have won the title.

I don't have a major issue with the principle of FFP, but the fact the amount clubs can lose has not been updated to reflect inflation is ridiculous. Perhaps a percentage level would be fairer, as it's unfair Man U can have unsuccessful season after another but are solid due to commercial revenue, but having had to increase wages to reflect the success of the team, we have one horrible season and are in big trouble with FFP.

It's like an 'Icarus' effect for the non-big 6 - get too successful and not maintain it for a season or two, and you'll get smashed. Again, it's why it's so critical the club do invest in Seagrave, building commercial revenue through stadium expansion etc. to help mitigate this.

It goes back to the title winning season and the abject commercial failures. During the run in of that season they would have had tonnes of interest for short term sponsorship and should have lapped it up. Then in the CL season, it was another to chance to get some big sponsorships in, grow commercial partners, expand the stadium etc but they completely fluffed that. That's one of the biggest things that's held us back as we then managed to assemble a talented squad with tonnes of re-sell value and we really could have changed the narrative for the club.

Clearly Vichai was a good businessman but I think this highlights how lucky he was with the dodgy workings in Thailand to grow his empire as the club can't be so commercially inept with a great business person at its helm.

Agree with the first paragraph, that was a massive missed opportunity. We could and should have gone big for the Asian market - as well as Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and India also, especially given the demographics of Leicester.

Be careful what you wish for.  We could be a lot worse off without king power than with them.

And there it is!!!

At this moment in time i would put a significant amount of money on KP leaving us in a worse state than they found us.

Yeah the memories are great, unforgettable but we still need the club to be here in the future. Its looking very bleak at the minute if these clown stay in charge.

The fans wanting new owners will think differently when we end up with someone like Mike Ashely who is pureley in it for himself. No one is likely to want to buy a mediocre club in the Midlands that makes no money,

Whilst I think they could do better.

I think you have to look at the bigger picture.

This isn't just a Leicester City problem, Forest and Everton are already in trouble.

Us, Villa, Wolves, and Chelsea all have problems or will have next season.

It is not just a PL problem either; lots of clubs in Europe have issues.

I think it's entirely okay to be completely thankful and appreciative of the promotion, title and FA Cup wins and how well run we were perceived to be.

But it's also entirely okay to be critical of how things have ended up and how they are currently, despite being top of the second tier.

This moment in time is a very turbulent one for a lot of clubs, and while some or navigating it better, some are also navigating it worse. King Power will learn from their experiences, but they shouldn't be given an entirely free pass.

A bit of humility on both sides wouldn't go amiss in my opinion.

This is where numerous issues start adding up.

If you go back to when we were challenging for the top 5 or just before that, the team with littered with players who we could potentially have shifted for a large fee. Look how quickly that changes with a few injuries (Ricardo was probably a £60m+ player before injury, ditto Ndidi was probably £40m+ before he started picking up injuries. I mean we just sold like three players for £160m in about 12 months. Chuck in Tielemans when he was good, Souyuncu.

We had a large number of saleable assets, but we pushed too hard to compete rather than just cash in at the right time, and got unlucky with some of them. I didn't see many moaning at the time.

A few injuries, a few bad signings, not sacking a manager, and a few bad decisions, chuck in the FFP changes and it's all come together to create a mess.

Unless they somehow find a way to have us stripped of our premier league title and FA cup I put it to you that this is simply impossible.

Exactly, it was all there for us to capitalise on and we screwed it

If anyone can name a mid-ranking club what have developed a regular income off Asia please let me know. It's a market dominated by the big six and their demands on constant success. Wolves have a Korean centre forward, but it's not suddenly got half of Seoul in Old Gold.
