Even my lads school head teacher (An LCFC fan also who knows about his loyal support of our club and discusses things with him after each game) sent him a humorous  email yesterday (A Sunday) after another teacher told him he was going up to the game, to tell him if he wanted to leave school an hour earlier to make the most of the day/experience and to save rushing up to Preston he'd authorise it and wished us luck.

I've had to, to abide by the rules, email the school admin this morning to say he has an "appointment" as the reason for leaving early as "suggested" by the HT. :D

What a top HT. :appl:

:scarf:

You’re a lucky dad. I took my son to a couple of games at the end of the 1982-83 promotion season and he hated it. Took him 41 years to go to his next match - we went to Plymouth a couple of weeks ago. He’s not planning which PL games we’ll get to!

North End fan here - All the best to you guys tonight. I gave my season ticket to a Leicester fan who's based in Preston and I am confident there will be other North Enders who will do the same for any travelling fans without tickets. I know last year, Sunderland needed something from the last game, for a playoff place, and many North Enders gave up their seats. We have nothing to fight for tonight, but its a good night for all Leicester fans. All the best to you all, and I hope you enjoy your trip to our City. The Moor Brook is a good pub, and the landlord is from Leicester.

Yet when I messaged him about allowing away fans - he bloody quizzed me!

What did he quiz you about? You'll be fine in there, its good ale and good grub, and a short hop to Deepdale. I honestly think you lot will be welcome anywhere today/tonight. We checked out a month or so ago, we've nowt to play for, and its your night tonight.

Fair enough, I suppose, but then again nobody is going to reply and say they're badly behaved, so its a pointless question. Just turn up, you'll be fine, though its a small ish pub, there is a big outdoor area out the back, with plenty of benches etc.

That was a great run in too. I was only 11 at the time and bloody loved it

What did he hate about it?

I've learnt my lesson the hard way doing an away do to Preston. I'll just take it steady with 10-15.

Enlighten us all with the story, it’s bound to be a belter….

I mean who's realistically going to answer no, when being asked if you're well behaved 😂

Also a steady 10 - 15 - If you're on anything other than Babychams I'm extremely impressed although I suspect your liver won't be

My experience of pubs is:

  • What is the capital city of Albania?
  • Which film starring Tom Hanks featured a dead swan, three tramps and a bucket of spicy Space Raiders?
  • What number between one and a million billion am I thinking of?

He just hated the noise and aggression, and probably what it did to me!

After the Plymouth match, he said the best thing about the whole evening was the City fans -

many of whom were not getting home until the early hours, but were still in reasonably good humour. We just had an hour’s drive back to East Devon!
