I'm going for Forrest at Home, moved to Monday night. Also banking a boxing day game against Ipswich or Liverpool.

One of the promoted teams (not sure if it's the champions) usually plays last seasons champions first, so probably Man City.

Liverpool home. Will be in flux and likely have moved players on and a new manager trying to find his feet. There for the taking.

The draw for the first game of the season is weighted so that the best teams of last season don't play each other. Most likely we will draw a top six side, at best it will be someone from midtable like Brighton or Wolves.

We’ll also have a couple of lower-table mediocrities (we’ll be one, but we can’t play ourselves*), so maybe Florest and Everton.

 

*Fortunately, because we’d probably lose.

I know we’re in for a points deduction, but it won’t be ten points - more likely six, if Everton or Florest are anything to go by.
