Have you had any?

Mine was 45 years ago. I was about to walk back into my home when the mate who dropped me off, shouted I had left my jacket in his car.

As I went back to collect it, he said something that made me alter my plans for that evening.

That change of plan meant my life took a course that is still being played out today - sadly, not always positively.

But that's life.

I was born white, male and working class in England.

Been playing the game of life on easy mode ever since

believe it or not, there are some countries in this world where that wouldn’t get you an easy life!

I was going on a flight but had a premonition there would be an accident - then I started having a fight with my friend and we got thrown off - and then the plane did crash.

You’d think that was lucky, but all my friends who were with me have started dying one by one in mysterious circumstances.

Everything is ok now though and six months has gone by so I’m going to Paris with my two remaining friends.

wow...that's some final destination shit

i had that on a major road in the U.S. i lived opposite a bottle shop/corner shop/corner store and as such would have to cross this to get what i wanted. obviously you get to know the cadence of the lights and as such you can second guess the change and cross "perfectly". it was 4 lanes with the parking lane on each side so a decent distance. on the way back across one night, i did my usual and set off walking in as there was no traffic and i knew the lights were about to change, i got a funny feeling and paused and took a few steps back just before walking onto the driving lane and as the light turned green to walk, a black lambo went through the lights at a good 80 miles an hour maybe more, took a full block for them to slow down for the next set of lights on Vine St. i'd have been obliterated...spooky.

Right, any guesses as to what this could be...

Yes, one involves Class As and the other a dead body, but I'll respectfully keep the speculation to myself! (while simultaneously sharing it)

When working in Bulgaria my plane back to Sofia was cancelled due to heavy snow and rescheduled for four days later. I missed a friend's birthday party so arranged to meet him when I got back and buy him a beer, then met my partner at the bar that night. Still with her 13 years later.

I assume you haven't seen @Daggersrecent post about his health scare?

A few years back, I was due to work a shift with a colleague but there was a spare man with no crewmate. As a lead paramedic I was taken off the crew and put on a response car as a solo responder.

The ambulance I would have been on was subsequently involved in a fatal collision in which the patient in the back was killed and the med tech was seriously injured and as a result, had to retire on health grounds.

As a solo responder, I was sent to the incident to manage the scene and treat casualties until support got there. I didn't know who or which vehicle was involved until I arrived, first on scene. It was a mess.

I have flashbacks that the seat in the back would have been occupied by me had the spare man not taken my place.

Time for a G and T after that post.

Three suicide attempts and a touch of C, honestly think I’m blessed with a shield of invulnerability like Lemmy - and that’s not factoring in the lifetime of seriously bad and dangerous life choices. No Reaper is taking me in a hurry. 😁

Yeah sorry to hear about your issues but also pleased you're still here to live another day!

Maybe just luck rather than sliding doors but here goes…..

Was walking out of my shop door a while back and 1 second before I got outside a loose window frame (like the entire window frame and glass and everything) fell and smashed on the pavement in front of me (from the first floor). Had I have been one second quicker I would have been underneath it.
