Considering the restrictions we're working with, this is a decent signing IMHO.

 

Also, (contract length dependant!) I'm not averse to signing a 31 year old. He's played a lot of games at PL level and his fitness record is pretty good. Not one to set the pulse racing but could be a solid addition.

s/o fees for out of contract players are still several millions which is paid in various ways (which can be monthly as part of wage) 

over 3 years that would be 20/25k per week 

 

Experienced premier league squad players earn 40/50k per week

Hes 31, will be money and contract length surely seeing as this will likely be his last proper contract. Decent money on a 3 year deal ill guess

We’re going to need some grafters next season, regardless of what we think as fans. If we’re serious about staying up we’re going to have to make some necessary signings. BDR certainly fits that category, he’s a steady performer, with a little bit of sauce on the side I’d say. It’s like going shopping and sacrificing the beers for washing up liquid, you don’t want to get it, you’re not interested in it, but you know you can’t wash the dishes with beer, you want the beer, but you don’t necessarily need the beer, yet you definitely need the washing up liquid, so you just have to suck it up and get it.

We’ve been crying out for squad depth in the wide areas, so really don’t get the negativity from some moaners. 
 

Not every signing is going to be of regular starting calibre, you way up our squad, ideally we need 3-4 signings of regular starting calibre, then about another 3-4 that will add depth, the wing being one of those depth areas. 
 

De Cordova-Reid as competition for Fatawu, with the ability to also play RB or RWB seems rather sensible to me.
