Looking back at your football interest, was there ever a player that is considered a world class but in your opinion never got the appeal. Maradona was gifted, but perhaps if he was that good did he really need to cheat?

To start it off... would have mentioned Jack Wilshire but he was never considered world class anyway. First one....

 David Seaman - IMDb

To Arsenal and some England fans a legend, for me bang average and others very calamity. It was apparent that World Cup 2002 was tournament too many for the keeper who was 41 at the time. Possibly cost England big time in that quarter final.

I wouldn't say I never rated but off the topic of my head: Roberto Carlos and Paul Scholes are two players from my youth who were never quite as good as some people now make them out to be. To be honest Carlos is a bit of an obvious one and regularly gets mentioned in these kids of lists, so I wonder if he has become underrated.

Of the current crop I'd say Van Dijk doesn't deserve the reputation he has, although he's a great player in general.

Season 18 Omg GIF by America's Got Talent

Won loads of trophies with Spain n Real Madrid but never thought he won games for them. Above average keeper playing in great sides, I'd put him below the following keepers:

Buffon, Neuer, Czech, Van der Sar & Schmichael.

He was better than Cech and Van Der Sar in my opinion.

Each to their own. Just never rated Casillas in the same way, never really won a game on his own compared to the others.

Antoine Griezmann. I don't watch much La liga, but I've never seen him play well in a tournament for France.

Pogba at Man Utd, definitely, but he was brilliant at Juve and at the Russia World Cup.

Lewandowski. Flat track bully?

For me a world class player must be amazing for club and country...

Was Rooney world class for his country... Euro 2004 was his best tournament but did we ever get repeat of that form in any of the other tournaments to follow. Club yes 2003-2011 was the peak of Rooney at Everton and Man Utd. Perhaps Rooney could have been so much better, I always felt he was tad overweight which of course I think affected his game.

I don't think Griezemann is world class but to say he has never had a good tournament for France is wild

At the 2018 World Cup he had 4 goals 4 assists in 7 games, he scored in the RO16, Quarter Final and Final, assisted in the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final.

He was second behind Kane for the golden boot and had the most assists in the tournament.

Guess you missed Euro 2016? Think he won player of the Tournament and was scorer. Still no idea how France didn't beat Portugal in that game.

Paul Scholes

Never has a player got so much better since they retired.
There is no question he was a decent player, but during his playing career, he was never rated that highly - as far as I’m aware never won any of the end of season awards, I don’t think he ever received a single vote for Ballon D’or, never premier league player of the season and yet since retiring he’s spoken about in the same category as the all time greats.
