Good move for him. Still think given a chance in the right kind of side he should be a very good player at that level. Obviously not proven himself at the level up. 
 

They seem to have made some handy signings for the Championship if they can get them to gel. O’Hare, Moore, Burrows, McCallum brought in. And a true Sheffield United side need a big lump at the back. 
 

To be honest, if he does well there, he probably swaps places with us in May and plays at a higher level than us next season if they keep him on.

He seems a good lad but I've never really been convinced by him. Hope he kicks on here and maybe we can recoup some of the cash we spent on him.

The fact that four managers have been in and not fancied him is saying something.

 

He was an extremely expensive flop and a sign of our poor recruitment under Rodgers.

Think he will show there's a good player we've neglected, there.

Strong in the air, relatively quick (for his size), good in both boxes, decent passer of the ball……

 

All I can think of is that he’s not got the tactical awareness to play at the top level. Can head balls out of the box all day in the championship but must struggle with the understanding of the game against better opposition

The signing that encapsulates this regime.

 

- Poor tactical fit, isn't really a natural ball-playing defender even though he's not horrendous at it

- Has been overlooked by basically three managers out of three in the space of 18 months

- Was bought for the first one, took out a loan to facilitate this that has later knocked us on the cusp of a points deduction. Said manager should obviously already been sacked by this point

- Big, long contract

- Pretty big transfer fee

 

And yet I'd wish him good luck. None of this is his fault. But a complete joke of a signing.

A year without football takes a toll. Might take a while to get back to his best. Good luck to him. If he’s essential for them in a promotion push he should be an easy sell next season.

It’s a weird one because I think he’s been fairly decent whenever he has played but that’s 3 managers now who all haven’t fancied him

Another player who gets better without playing - even the bit against Shrewsbury showed he’s bang average - our other centre half’s are better than him
