It irks me because Emery was brought to Villa when we were level on points with them (or maybe above them slightly?). Their trajectory and ours since just shows what can happen with good decision-making.

Some of us were also calling for us to make a change at that time as well given it was going stale under Rodgers.

We were bottom they were 17th

Gerard took villa from 7th to 17th villa pulled trigger could see what was coming.

Rodgers took us from 8th to bottom and Top and co made more errors of judgement and gave him another window and majority of the season

Every few months Doku does something that makes you think he might not be shite.

Classic quick winger but not much end product .

Man City probably edged it so deserved the win .

@Bilo hows the celebrating?

Seriously looking forward to Lee Anderson FC falling down the table. It's inevitable.

Man City hitting form just in time to deal with Notts Forest.

Their remaining fixtures are very easy on paper. No way they were missing a Champions League spot even with a draw tonight. Guardiola's reaction to the 2nd goal is more cringe than the entire Hollywood. Lad has totally lost it or he's just playing his part as a well paid actor. Most likely the latter.

guess the ideal would be for them to lose at the weekend in the semis then brentford beat them

looking at some of the fixtures this weekend, its possible they could drop to 6th if Chelsea and Newcastle win

Chelsea have everton at home and toon Ipswich at home

Strange he is better than Rashford

I’m not so sure, Rashford probably got more to his bow than Watkins with Watkins being the better out and out scorer currently.

Not sure just looking in the here and now paints the right picture for Rashford, at 1 point he was 1st name on the sheet for Man U & England but lost his way coupled with all the issues at Man U.

Watkins hasn’t always been this good he’s having a purple 2yrs or so but he’s 29 was he talked about like he is currently pre 27 like Rashford ,who is 27, a couple of seasons ago?

They are probably both feeling the benefits of the Emery affect & a nice problem for him to have, if I could only pick 1 I think I’d probably fall on the side of Rashford with an eye looking at knowing what he can do when fully on it & being 2yrs younger than Watkins.

I hope Villa finish 7 and then slide into obscurity just for the mental health of some foxestalk posters

Be an interesting summer for FFP - potentially the next Leicester if they can't shift anyone. It's where the Asensio and Rashford signings were a risk but at least calculated, by being loans.

See a good number of leeds fans are loving the fact we've gone down and theyve gone up....

be interesting to see where they are in a years time

RB Leeds will survive next year, unfortunately. Their new owners are not messing around. They will attract good players and maybe a good new manager.

I hope Notts finish 7 and get relegated next year.

Its hilarious that people keep classing them as a 'big club' like elite level. I saw a Leeds fan saying they were in the same category.

They will have to spend like forest did and forest barely survived when the league was way worse

next seasons bottom three will be the three that come up

Dont think for one minute Leeds will survive.

Very good Championship team but realistically,  how many of their players would you take if you were a Premier league team?

A bit like us really, great Championship squad but not Premier League level.

If the Premier League wasn't as competitive as it has become, they'd stand more of a chance, but there's such a gulf in quality now that a good Championship team doesnt survive.

They'll probably flirt with the likes of Everton who'll as per usual, shit house their way to survival and continue stinking out the league.

All the best to them anyway, theyve been solid this season in the Championship and if theyve only got a player that gives a fvck about the club, they're already one better than us.

Apparently it's literally impossible to stay up because the cosy cartel want to make sure Brentford and Bournemouth are in the PL forever or something.

Who are they dragging down to finish above, though?

My money would be on Wolves.

Individual quality has got them out of the shit but with Cunha on his way out I could see them being down there again. Also had a mini implosion mid season which could happen again.

I would say if anyone’s going to drop from the current crop next season it’ll be Wolves. They’re almost destined to lose Cunha and I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose Andre too.

Do people really think Wolves are that bad? Their scouting and recruiting is astounding for years now. I posted here earlier this season when they were struggling that they're a better team than Man Utd and Spurs. Wolves are a stable mid table Premier league team, there's no way they're going down next season.

The teams to catch regarding relegation battle were West Ham, Man Utd, Spurs and Everton. It's going to be even more difficult for Leeds. They need around 15 top tier players to even compete.

Manager rarely hangs around anywhere long either.
